loosie, i love old hand written recipies... i saved alot of my moms. cute site!!
Wendys 10 pack of nuggets and a large triple triple from tims thanks to my mommy
Awwww. That's awesome! Sure wish I had my mom's recipe box--but my dad decided he couldn't keep every single piece of her after she died. And--many of the best recipes were all in her head and not written down on paper. Still, I'd love to see that recipe box again with her girlish cursive on cue cards.
I've written out my most cherished recipes as well as the special ones that were my mom's, and canvassed my MIL to tell me about her special dishes. Wrote them all out on cue cards for each of my kids and tucked them away into that special memory box I keep for each of them so that when they are grown up, they'll have the recipes too from both sides of the family!
Tonight I made tater tot poutine, lol. So that's tater tots, poutine gravy and cheese curds, yupp now thats a dinner lol. :embarassed::biggrin:
^ Tater tot poutine sounds yummy.
Tonight was "just tell me what you want to eat and I'll make everybody their own personal demands because I'm slowing starving to death while you attempt to reach consensus with your sister over what to have for supper" night. Normally I would never cater to each kid, but it's a long story today.
DD wanted tomato soup and other DD wanted chicken fingers and fries.
Absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever...hehehe...win some, lose some, I guess. Hey-- it put a quick stop to the arguing.
I had mcdonalds. Big mac, frys & diet coke ! :)
Last night was cheese and potato perogies, with sauteed onions and mushrooms.
well after doing the search in a few stores for the Blue Menu Sirloin burgers and coming up empty handed I decided to take a chance on the family pack of lean ground meat @ Metro today. It cost me $8.50 and after I added some diced mushrooms, onion, added the eggs, crumbs and spices it made 13 quite substantially sized burgers!
I was actually pleased with the way they BBQ-d up and stayed moist and juicy, so frozen patties BE GONE!
Sometimes I forget the taste of ground beef as I mostly buy ground turkey and chicken for everything. It is sinfully delicious, I gotta say. Brushing both sides of the burgers at the end of the cooking with the last dollops of BBQ sauce from 3 different bottles made me feel quite thrifty!
Dinner is served..shortly.
That's what I'm talkin 'bout!!
I'm going to a friends for a bbq.
Yay no cooking tonight.
I nearly gag eating those frozen burgers, even the sirloin ones our DD buys, so I always make my own. Penguin, if you put a little more breadcrumbs in, it'll hold together much better.
But tonight it's chicken burgers with more of that guacamole sauce on mine...tomatoes, lettuce, cheese...We're taping in prep for painting here, so it's going to be a quickie dinner.
We do a produce pack thing here locally so once a week we get a boatload of veggies. I made this last night and it is reheating now for tonight. Nom Nom.

Hm... no cooking tonight. Son wanted frozen pizzas - so had two Casa Mama deluxe and a mozza one.
A guy touches my grill i'll cry. It's MY grill
So I did not do enough meals for the week yesterday, just wasn't into it I guess. This morning I got everything out to make a new recipe ( thin pork cutlets with a mashed butternut squash filling, topped with a Swiss cheese and honey sauce)
After I mashed the squash I had the brilliant idea to put it into my little chopper thingy to get it more smooth....bad idea.
It pureed so runny that I now could not spread it onto the sliced pork without it running/spilling off.
Well I throw nothing out if I can help it, so I diced all the raw pork up into teeny bits, threw in diced onion, red and green pepper and added some of that sticky BBQ cooking sauce I had made last week. While that simmered I made a nice large pastry for my deep 9x11 pan.
So it has turned into a deep dish BBQ pork meat pie, and I spread that pureed squash over the top of the filling before I placed the top layer of pastry on. Hey it works.
Now I have to pretend to the gang here that the meat pie was my plan all along.
:lolsign::lolsign:
WOB, that sounds amazing, however you got to the final product!
I'll be making baked porkchops with mushroom and onion sauce, roasted potatoes, and marinated veggie salad.
Late lunch today, so we'll eat late - son works at church til about 8.
i made a pasta bake. cooked a couple turkey sausages, sliced them up and threw in a bowl some red, green and yellow bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, garlic and some cooked rotini with a jar of tomato sauce.. threw it in a casserole dish with some shredded cheese and baked. so good!
^ I want that LOL
So far I've just grazed in the kitchen and ate, strawberries, cherries, chicken, crackers, and a granola bar. But I'm baking a carrot cake right now.
Both of the above posts sound awesome, even with their very different approaches!
Last night, hm.... king deal Burger King - we usually go on Weds. for whoppers, but the king burger was awesome!
Salsa Spaghetti, yum
^ that was last night
tonight we're having wings (well, drumsticks) deepfried and sauced, and some frys!
