I like it on the grill too, but have never cooked it that way myself. I always boil it. Bring the water to a rolling boil, add the corn, reduce heat to half, boil 7 minutes, not a second longer. :) there's a place at the flea market at the other end of the GTA - they bbq it and then add hot spices and lime juice - yummmmmm.
It's my last day off so dh and I are going out for dinner tonight. No cooking - Yay!
pizza.theres a huge storm rolling in again,so no bbqing
This may sound weird but it works really well! Wrap your husked corn in a paper towel, run it under the tap to get the paper towel nice and wet and them wrap tightly in tin foil. grill on medium for about 20-25 minutes( I am really bad at timing things), turning at about the 10-15 minute mark. I like to do my corn this way because the corn doesn't char and is really moist and it will sit in the foil and stay hot while I am grilling the meat. Good Luck
It lookslike my meal plan for the rest of the weekdays will be:
Tonight: Quiche with shallots, bacon and gruyere cheese served with a side salad using my homegrown tomatoes :P
Wednesday: Chicken soluvlaki, lemon roasted taters, tatziki(homemade of course ;)), and greek salad with more of my tomatoes :P
Thursday: BBQ'd rosemary chicken, leftover taters, grilled corn
Friday: Hotdogs on the bbq with chili ;)
I changed my mind. Yes it happened in mere minutes ;)
Friday will be personal pizza's with the leftovers :P
Monday will be the dogs and chili
so unhealthy, but I two pizza pockets for supper
leftover meatloaf, rice and salad.
leftover rice that was in the fridge and the last of my frozen veggies :( I want pizza after seeing the thread about Domino's half off grr LOL!
Yup. Plain old water. When you cook corn on the cob in an open fire you have to soak it for at least 5-6 hours to prevent it from burning up in the fire. Ideally, you would soak the corn longer (overnight if possible). As it was, we had soaked ours for 6 hours and some of the corn was still burnt inside. But--it was tasty nonetheless. Love that smoky flavour!
