Need help choosing a high-efficiency detergent

Hi all,
I just purchased a new washer/dryer combo and the washer takes only high-efficiency detergent. I have not paid attention to the price of detergent in a long time (since I've been buying 'Etxra' at Giant Tiger... and needless to say it is not high-efficiency).

I am shocked at the price of high-efficiency detergent and I need help choosing the best value (ie. who has the best price, who regularly has sales, what coupons to use,etc.)

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I find Purex is pretty good,goes on sale alot,coupon friendly,and is availible in HE.

I use gain and tide and like both of them. You will save lots of money with a new washer and dryer. I use one small bottle every couple of mths. You only need a1 tbsp of laundry detergent per load.

Hi, I buy mine from Sears. It is Kenmore Brand and it is $ 22 a box but watch because it does go on sale for $ 11 - $15. You need so little that each box lasts me a min. of 6 Months! And we are a family of 4 and do a lot of laundry!

I have had a H/E washer for a year now, a high end Maytag, and I have tried many H/E detergents...but the liquid seems to be much better than the detergent powder.

I like Purex and it is on sale this upcoming week at SDM for 3.99 I think and there are .50 & 1.00 off coupons out there...
My hubby is a fuel truck driver and gets diesel and grease on him and we use Sunlight Mighty Small and it works absolutely awesome at remving all the grease, etc..

For my special clothes, and if I stack at LD, I buy the Tide Special Care I think it's called, but you only get 20 full loads compared to about 34-40 in other brands...I have never paid more than 5.98 for this on sale and combined with coupons you save even more.

I do 2-3 loads a day of wash because we have 4 kids who are into activities and sports and with summer here they go through towels like crazy...anyhoo, I am rambling.

Tide. there are coupons lying there year-round (check save.ca), and SDM sometimes have those on sale for $4.99.
