This is not a brag but will you shop at WM again? First I work at WM. I have been sick. So I got a Dr. note which they wanted I took 2 weeks off then had 2 weeks holidays. So I was off for 4 wks. I return to WM with a Dr. note saying that I can only work mornings. I gave them a new availlibilty sheet with just mornings opened. They want me to quit working there all together! I don't know what to do. One of the managers was waiting by the time clock yesterday so when I clocked out she was there to talk to me. I told her that I am NOT a quitter and I AM NOT quitting. Today she phoned my home and left a message that she and the store manager want to meet with me on Tuesday, if I am coming to work at all? Please help. Thanks

I don't know the answers to your questions. My best advice would be to call the Labour Board tommorrow or monday, and tell them exactly what you have posted here. See what advice they have to give you.
Good luck!

Horndogg
I am sure they want you to quit simply because they do not want to accommodate your shift requirements. They are probably also suspicious of you calling in sick before your two weeks vacation. Plus with you coming back and now saying you can only work days that is probably not sitting very well with your management team. More than likely they are looking to terminate your employment but they want you do it so they do not have to pay you any type of severance. They also know if they were to terminate your employment there could be some serious sanctions since it would coincide with a request of for something specific due to your doctor's orders. Just a side note on this, a company does not have to accommodate anything that is non-work related such as a shift accommodation. They could easily place you on Leave of Absence (LOA) until a position becomes available with those restrictions. But that can still be dicey as it would become a human rights issue when it comes to medical conditions.
I would probably seek some counsel either from a lawyer or the labor board (as pointed out by rhiannon1891). It almost sounds like harrasement by them calling at home in that fashion.
Is the shift acccomadation a permament restriction? If not, then I would ask your doc to do it on a temporary basis.
Good-Luck!

Call the labour board for some advice...also keep a little notebook of dates and everything that was said to you and by who... after a few meetings and phonecalls there could be alot of info you need to keep on hand for the future should you need to have it.
