For me, it took a couple of months for the searches to kick in (I kept trying with no success). Now, I find that I can usually get 1-2 wins a day. I have a list of 100+ words & just cut & paste them until I get a win. Sometimes it's 3 words, sometimes it's 85, each day is different.
Do you do the recommendations each day? That at least will give you 100 points.

Click on one of the search results (ie the wikipedia one) and wait for 30 seconds. There should be a red/maroon bar at the top. On the right hand side you'll see "Do you recommend this site?" followed by 2 grey buttons (yes, no). & a comment box above. Once the 30 seconds are up (it will say voting begins in 0 seconds under the yes/no), write something in the comment box, then click Yes. You will get credited 50 points.
Not sure if this rule is hard & fast, but I then click on something on that page to take me to another page. I'm not sure if it was a glitch, but I found if I didn't do this, the points would not be added.
Do this with a second search result & you'll get your 100 for the day.
I usually click on 2 search results from the first search I did (ie ruby), so I know that that is done.
