I just put a apple saskatoon coffee cake in the oven-all from our trees! Oh I should have put some honeyberries in it too maybe. Darn-next time. I love having our own fruit trees and bushes! We are eating good for lunch today!

Back from the farmers market. Bought so many yummie things. Making Bean soup for hubby, making yellow bean soup, making broscht for my self, bought corn for grilling, free range eggs. I love the farmers market!

hey my parents just told me they are getting half a pig! They are getting it from the butcher and .99 a pound is a great deal huh? hmm...better start thinking of pork recipes! LOL

getting everything as far as I know-ribs,roast, chops, bacon, everything! But the deal is that you get what they give you-you don't get to decide how much of each thing you get but we don't care! we'll take it! We don't think there will be much bacon but who knows?

my dad helped a friend out with some stuff and he was going to pay my dad back by giving us a pig and my dad asked the butcher how much it would cost but it is more expensive to bring in our own pig and get it killed and stuff than to buy one of theirs. So I don't know if we are getting a pig anymore. This half a pig will definitely last awhile-there is like 85-90lbs of pig which is actually less than I thought there would be. I was thinking it would be more close to 100lbs-pigs are huge! But now to find room for all that pork!
