Well, I slept from 11 til midnight, tries to sleep more, but couldn't - so I've been up for hours - and wow, is this ever going to mess up my day! Seems to happen to me every few months - but, gee, all-nighters were WAY more fun when I was younger!

Well, I slept from 11 til midnight, tries to sleep more, but couldn't - so I've been up for hours - and wow, is this ever going to mess up my day! Seems to happen to me every few months - but, gee, all-nighters were WAY more fun when I was younger!

I get 2 nasty bouts of insomnia a year. One n the fall and one in the spring. It's very odd and it's very difficult. I can go days without more than an hour's sleep! Or I'll crash for an hour, be awake for 5, crash for 30min, awake again and the sleep I'll get is NOT regenerating in the least. I usually feel worse if I nap.

Way back when I had a GoLite (light therapy lamp) it seemed to help. The sleep people said my melatonin was screwed up and the different seasons (# of light hours changing dramatically) is what caused this.

Maybe you could benefit? There's supplements of melatonin you can get at a natural food store. They're no miracle cure by any means and they won't knock you out like Good Ole Vallium but it stabilizes a little and it does help. If you're taking ANY medication ask your pharmacist for contraindications as I know there are some. It's like taking Vit E if you're on blood pressure meds... some of your meds may need to be adjusted. I know I can't take it while I'm still breast feeding. I can't remember why, she just said no lol so I left it at that.
