Good morning, all! Hoping that you all recover well from your weekend hijinks.
I am just hoping that today is better than yesterday...

Ah yes, the joys of living downtown. Can we talk?

There's a 31 storey tower just being completed immediately across the street from my windows (they stole my view!) and another 32 storey tower just getting started at the other end of my block.
There was one day last week when I went out the front door and two of the five cherry picker type things across the street were backing up. So you had the ear piercing BEEPBEEPBEEPs from those AND they were using a humungous blower thing to raise soil up (through a big hose) to the rooftop gardens on the fifth floor. That alone had to be about 90 decibels. Then... just a few steps down the street (at the other project) were two HUGE cement trucks revving their engines full blast to give the cement a good fast mix just before it's poured out and into a cement pump/hose thing that was also making a huge roar.
I barely got a few steps past all of this and then the fire trucks from the station across the back lane go screaming by. I tell ya... I live above all this and it's a good thing I can turn my hearing aids off and just leave them in and use them as earplugs!
Here's a pic from a few months ago of one of those cement hose thingies doing it's thing on the project across the street.

Hmmm, I often get the feeling people who post on the Blog are not even members. At least they don't read the forums because frankly many of them have no manners. I was on the free gillette thread and there are these 2 guys posting and I have no clue WTF they are talking about but I decided not to even bother to go back on it.
Another thing I don't get is why it continues to bother some people about the way people track their savings. There's a thread about it in the shopping discussion. I don't get it, what's it to you how people track their savings?

I am amazed at how people track there savings.I tracked my coupon use last year and by the end of the year was so sick of it so this year gave it up.Every time I got back from shopping I had to think of where I was and what coupons I used and then add them up...for what??
Bragging rights I guess
So $3000 later I called it quits. No time for that!!
