lol, Skippy. He knew you had a squishy heart.
Since we run a shelter we are constantly recieving chihuahuas and chihuahua crosses. They are honestly my favorite breed, and though many people think they are yappy or foul tempered, they just need a lot of structure. We don't allow barking.
Right now there is 5 with pups on the way.
We also house cats if need be (we have two constant resident cats that keep finding their way back to us somehow.) and our scale baby, a 4 foot snake.
Thank goodness we have peace in the house!Remember that even though pets are here for such a short time they teach us things we would never be able to learn in many lifetimes on our own.

I think it is so sad that shelters in general are overrun with chihuahuas, too many people get puppies on impulse "oh look... so cute and so small..." and they get all the doggie bling, the rhinestone collars and the little outfits and then the novelty wears off and the poor little thing gets turfed to a shelter.
Animals are not items!!!!!

It's true. These dogs are treated like accessories, and Paris Hilton does not help our situation at all. But they are wonderful, each and everyone that comes into our house. And finding great homes isn't hard for them after their behavioural rehab. It helps that they are cute!

I have heard that saying and unfortunately so has my cat! lol My goodness my kitty thinks we live to serve him! Also that what else would we possibly want to do other than serve him-it has to be a privilage! lol But I love him dearly and most days "serving" him is not such a bad thing! I get my cuddle time with him in return!

Daisybear and LitesandSrens your pets are adorable
I love all the birthday hats, and what glossy coats they all have. Especially the black ones... they look like panthers with doggie heads

Wanted to add that I wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting my cat to wear a hat not even just long enough to snap a pic. I have a wreath thingy that goes around his neck with a bunch of bells on it (it's a Christmas pet collar) and he HATES it with a passion. When I put it on him he rubs up against everything frantically trying to get it off. He's an indoor cat and not used to having anything around his neck period.
Then he hunches down and just sits there with a cross look on his face until I take it off (and Mommy gets the cold shoulder for a few hours after that)
