me again I forgot to mention you can help in other ways when you have a comfortor, bedspread that your going to throw out dont cut it into 4 squares and sew the edges and then wash up and give to the rescue groups these fit right into the crates yes sometimes we do have to use crates the only time i use a crate is when i go out your right about the racing we have driven into the site and a puppy who has never raced hears the lure machine and will start screaming and wanting out of his crate they do have fun... we have a straight track here and a box and a machine we use a pelt and they love to chase that.. my husband helps others to box train and run after the bunny its so much fun watching the first time they come out of that box and get the bunny and Bill allows them to walk off the track and show everyone that he's got the bunny in his mouth and he's just so smart ... and he's falling over his chest as much as they can be tuff on the track they love to crawl into bed and pls put the blanket over me and Ill keep you warm... some like kids and some dont I have one that hates kids and when kids come she is put away i have another one that is so happy to see a kid she can hardly contain her self and i have to tell her to slow down... but she will run slowly beside a child doing baby steps and she will talk to the child whippets do talk !!! sometimes to much but all in all they are a loveable sweet dog... sometimes in rescue you see all kinds coming in, if they have been beaten and turned into rescue i report them to the childrens aid ,i have said many times if they beat a dog they beat the wife and kids and at last they are listening to me but it has taken to long for them to listen they come in many colours sizes we have a rescue here right now, its got a home going there on the 29th of this month a little gal, she was turned into a HS and they called us, I have a good repor with HS I help them and they give us the whippets .. the home she is going into has just lost a whippet due to ill health and there is another whippet in the house and is going to enjoy having a buddy there should always be 2 whippets in the house less trouble and they like the company they hate being by themselves.... gesh i have written a book falling off my stool and going to drink my coffee have a nice day, im off to the shower, feed my dogs and get husband up going to a craft show at a church i have been wanting to see the inside old stain glass windows love them, then do some shopping i.e. pop a little food and come home and cook dinner... that sounds like a full day are you doing the xmas gift exchange this year I wanted to but was told I had not posted 100 messages so i couldnt take part grrr.... at this rate of going i wont be on it for next year either lol as i dont post a lot but do read a lot but i did do the card exchang for Nov and I got a nice card back with some coupons and xmas tags the gal i exchange with i sent her a reg. card as i dont make cards however i do make jewlery and i sent her a bracelet and matching earrings... then she said her ears were pierced any more ... so i found a nice little coupon holder about the size of a small book fits right into one's purse so i thought i would send my card and that for Dec... hope the person might like that i dont know the gals all that well so if they dont like it maybe they can pass it on get my self off here lol\ have a great day sherrall
good morning my husband and i have rescue over 50 whippets and it doesnt get any easier to give them up let me tell you however we do say your going to a better home because you will get full attention here they have to share with the rest of them to get attention .. but its so nice to see the end results a few months down the road when we go and see them... they are so happy and some of them come back here when their owners go on holidays they stay here... they dont miss the owners becausee they get to run in a very big back yard and there is no kennel, they are treated just like the rest of the whippets in the house sherrall
hi we have whippets next size down from a grey hound they are small the males about 22 inch tall... they are not raced like the greys in the USA tracks and we take care of our dogs and when they become to old to race at 5 or 6 yrs old they stay with us we dont throw t hem out we are good to our dogs we also do rescue as well we have a little one here right now and she will be going to her new home on the 29th... she had to get shots and see if she had worms in her poop lol etc... but she is very healthy and doing well shameus sherrall
