I remember when my sister got married we made the car decorations from the coloured tissues. That was in the days before you could buy them.

And guess who's taking a crochet class? Yep. I can crochet an chain and basically have made a dishcloth, but boy do I get confused about where to place my hook; I think the instructions just create a fog in my wee brain. I read them and have no idea which hole to count as "the first" or the last....so this way I'll learn properly.

That`s a beautiful scarf. It should look fantastic in those colours. I honestly don`t know how you have the patience to knit. I find crocheting is so much faster but maybe that`s because I learned that first. Knitting was self taught and I never learned the proper way to do it. Crocheting is much easier on my hands too. Started working on Christmas towels today...need to get them in stores in a couple weeks.

Oh. Re that scarf I'm knitting: it's on Ravelry so there are a couple of hundred photos of completed projects there (one of the things I love about Ravelry!), and I much prefer the ones that omitted the Knit rows: much smarter looking, I think, all in SS. I hope!

Good for you, CL! Honestly...where on earth do people dig up that kind of nerve? I could never bring myself to do something like that. And I have to smile at that pic you have of all that yarn!! I picked up more yarn today from Michaels while the Vanna's Choice was on sale, plus the yarns for my Grandson's hat..I'll be knitting day and night to get my Christmas knitting done somehow while knitting his hat! I picked up 2 shades of plum (violet, actually) with a steel grey..hope she likes it. Hope I finish it!

I told her I don`t give my patterns away and she was ok with that. It was her friend that was a PITA. She called again last month but thank goodness for call display...ignored the calls. I had told her where the pattern is available.

I find it comforting to think of my little ones being cuddled by the angels.

Oh I hear ya WRT "that guy". I replied once and he just came back at me with something else. Now I just ignore him. I do read his posts though and laugh...wonder if he knows how ridiculous he sounds.

That is just some of the yarn I picked up at the tent sale. I use the dark blue for ripple afghans with white strips and edging. The turquoise will be ruffled afghans and also used with green and white for gingham ones. There is a pic of that in my album.

Years ago my former neighbour had a doxie named Brandy. She was the cutest thing. I was looking at my fave jewelry site the other day and saw a doxie pendant. I thought of you.
Things are not bad around here. Inflamation levels are on the rise again so hope they don`t skyrocket like last fall. They`re keeping a close eye on it. Am still busy with crocheting.

Hi, CL! Meh...the healing on the outside is done, but the healing on the inside could progress faster; I'd love to be able to dump my cane, as pretty as it is, lol, and walk like a normal person. Slow but sure, right? Not a lazy day here, at least for my hubby who's vacuuming all the rooms, doing laundry...I offered to dust, so at least I can do something! So...D&C-ing the house! DD's coming over later in the afternoon to wrap all her gifts to our grandson and her hubby, and her hubby just called me from the mall to make sure he was getting the correct rolling briefcase for her...'til the season, right?!
And yes, sad news about Tara...how much is one young person expected to endure?!! And Holly, too....so sad, and particularly at this time of year..makes it so much worse, but I keep both of them in my prayers.

Hey Lynn, How is the healing process going these days? Was so sorry to hear about Tara.
I`m finally on the mend. Hoping to get off the prednisone in Feb, but at least the pain level has gone way down.
Only a few more days til Christmas. We`re not doing anything...just having a quiet day at home. Hope you enjoy your time with family

You would think so but I find the summer is my busiest time. AnnaMae`s gets a lot of tour buses coming in. Things start slowing down in the fall until the following spring. I use the winter to get my stockpile replenished.

Oh, sorry to hear about your back, Hon....I know what that's like and it's why I'm not sewing 60 squares together for a doggie quilt for our dog park raffle...a few hours on the sewing machine and my back is so pinched I can hardly straighten up or walk! I have a wedding to perform later today, so I need to be in top condition. Or as "top" as it can be at my age!
Christmas must be sheer madness for your crocheted items!! Better rest up!

Good to hear you`re making progress. I hear ya about winter walking. I was on crutches one year and I was so afraid of falling.
Im trying to keep caught up but it`s been slow going. I put my back out 2 weeks ago so haven`t been doing much. I had to go into Listowel yesterday...we were out of a few things. That did me in...came home and slept for 2 hours. Times like this is when I really miss hubby being able to drive.
My sister took me to AnnaMae`s on Monday. I was actually happy to see things are slowing down a bit there...they won`t be getting as many tour buses now... but I still have to get things caught up in the other stores. Quilted Heirlooms usually only sells 10 in a good month. Last month they sold 27. There truly is no rest for the wicked!
