  1. Love Jack's turkey costume...very original.

PS - I didn't know you roll with Smokey
  2. Thanks for the rep. It's 4am and your snow/hail woke me up and now I can't get back to sleep
  3. You'd be surprise what I CAN'T DO! Happy Thanksgiving my friend!
  4. Actually DH has relatives in Midland, so it could be arranged *LOL* Enjoy ribs and Collingwood. It's a nice area Have a great time!
  5. Can you send your DH to Midland to work on my brakes...PLEASE.

I'm off to Collingwood to visit with my relatives and to fill up on BBQ ribs. I miss BBQing since I moved into my apartment.
  6. Folks are here until tomorrow and then they leave back for home (SSM). Jack started school already last Monday, so Tuesday is just a regular day of school for him. DH's 42nd b-day was yesterday so we had a nice meal at home and lots of cake He's working on his brakes today and I am just being lazy. How are you doing?
  7. Any big plans for the long weekend? I hope your family has one last HURRAY before the start of school.
  8. Good for you! It's really hard when you go into an organization where people have different opinions and you are gung ho to please all but also know what would be the best bets... Stuck between a rock and a hard place... Trust me, been working for government for over 11 years and it never is easy but at least it sounds like you have some support, so keep on trucking and never lose sight of your goal Happy Sunday!
  9. Midland is good and there are a lot of cute towns near by to visit. The library on the other hand needs a lot of work. Thankfully I seem to have the doctors on my side, so making changes should go smoothly. Everything is just going to take time...my manager keeps reminding me to take baby-steps.
  10. Good morning to you too How's Midland and your job treating you?
  11. Good morning sunshine
  12. Thanks for the reps and for thinking about me. The job is pretty good but there is major work to be done in the library after 30 years of the same person being in charge and very few upgrades. The town of Midland is good with lots of nice local shops. The downfall is that the community is TOO close knit (everyone is related) and as an outsider it is hard to meet people.
  13. Having a tornado hit Midland 2 days after I signed my apartment lease kind of put me on edge. With that out of the way, I guess it should be smooth sailing from here on in...FYI - I was safe and sound in Collingwood when the tornado hit (2 blocks from my place)!
  14. Glad to hear the move went safe and sound and you survived your first day of orientation! You will do wonderful, so stop worrying and enjoy your new job Take Care, talk soon!
  15. Today was my first day of orientation. Lot of information that went in one ear and out the other. We even visited the maximum security forensic ward..."crazy" stuff!!!

This job is going to have a HUGE learning curve but it should be great. Thanks so much for thinking about me
  16. How is it going? Did you make the move yet? Look forward to catching up with you when you have a chance! Break a leg and all the best!
  17. If you need a character reference, I can certainly vouch that you are a character I'll I can say, keep on, keep on trying. My first gov job interview with the MNR was in 1998 in Sudbury... didn't get the job... fast forward 5 years later in the Sault...interview with MNR, no job... fast forward 2 years later... BINGO! I am in Timmins... Patience and perserverance pays off!
  18. I have applied for 2 gov jobs in the last little while that I have ALL the qualifications for, and then some...I haven't heard back
  19. *LOL* I know you did, that's why I made the foot in mouth comments Actually, T-Bay has been a hot spot lately for gov jobs... There are a few posted for the public right now: http://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Search.aspx (Scroll to Thunder Bay)
  20. hehe...I know you work for the MNR. I take back everything if there are any job openings
  21. Yes, I'll have to speak to my employer on that one *LOL* And yes, I , too, won a Sirius radio boom box thingy and it sits on my bedroom shelf because whenever we remember to put it on the car it is -40 below Go figure, Northern Ontario for ya!
  22. Silly MNR should have included at least 1 years subscription service for the gadget. LOL...I won a digital radio once but it sat on my shelf for over a year because I didn't want to pay the subscriptions fee. Then I donated it as a prize for a wedding social.
  23. Glad you liked your envie You deserve it! You are super wonderful too!
