  1. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year... or at least a better better one than mine this year which is full of aches, pains and not-so-patiently waiting for a baby!
  2. Thanks for the rep, Skippy! So far, so good today I hope all is well with you also!
  3. That is indeed a perk. Although I was always reminded that I ruined a picnic by being born.
Hope your birthday was/is all that you would want it to be.
  4. Glad to hear that the birthday went well I hope you're enjoying the summer weather! I also have a summer birthday and consider that to be the big perk - barring crazy climate stuff, we will never have to shovel snow on our birthdays!!
  5. Thanks for the rep, Skippy! Lucky for me, I am indeed feeling a bit better today and am so thankful for that; turns out that this whole pregnancy thing is not for the faint of heart! :/ It has, however, pushed me to research some stretches and exercises to ease the sciatica that I've now developed. Sciatica + Nausea + Dizziness = one crummy-feeling gal
How are things going for you? I hope the arm is healing well!
  6. Thanks for the rep, Skippy! I've been thinking about you a lot lately and you'll continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping that things start getting better, not worse for you! <3
  7. Thanks for the rep, Skippy! I hope all is well with you and that you're having a great weekend. It's still chilly here, but at least it's sunny. I find the sunshine makes everything just seem so much more positive and hopeful - even cold temperatures. I've got faith that spring will get here ...eventually
  8. Thanks for the rep! I hope your weekend is going well. We've got some beautiful sunshine here - a nice treat after a few days of gloom - so I'm going for a walk to brighten my day.
  9. The thread has certainly taken off - it's quite inspiring and comforting for me to hear about other SC'ers journeys through mental health.

You make a great point regarding the "What are you thankful for" thread as a way to track the good stuff - I had never thought of sharing my personal lists. I think that it's often too easy - for me anyways - to get stuck in negative self-talk that makes you forget the good stuff that really does happen.

I remember when things were really, really bad for me a few years back (when I started making my lists) that I could always write down that breakfast went well - probably because breakfast was always cold cereal, lol! Now, though, I feel that I am truly blessed as I can always come up with at least five things pretty easily when at first I struggled to get 3!
  10. I walk everyday too. Your idea of keeping a list of everything good is excellent,I think I'll try it.
I would've used it as a quote, but there is so much in this thread that can be quoted.
The "What are you thankful for today" thread was one way I
thought people could focus on the positives in their lives
    regardless of the negatives.
  11. Thanks, that Kitty has the universal cat face that says.....
  12. All the best to you in 2012!
  13. Thanks for the rep, Skippy! Have a great Monday
  14. Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty worried about my Dad, probably even more than about myself. He's known for just trying to "soldier on" no matter what, so hopefully he remains open to my nagging and checking in all the time to make sure he's okay... it'll help both of us, IMHO.
  15. Prayer offered on behalf of you and your family.
    Please keep us updated.
  16. Thanks for the rep! There are so many things that we take for granted that we're really blessed to have
