  1. So i found my machine at the back of the cupboard and set it to work with some kiwi i had at hand. Tasted great - although some pieces needed a little more drying time. Problem is ...it all went....poof..3 trays worth in someones' tummy already. *sigh* - I guess thats a good problem to have, lol
  2. Oh, the gadgets we buy just to store them...lol!
When cans go on sale ... I pick up a bunch and do 3 levels of them...or 4..I can't remember fir sure, but believe me....when you start nibbling them, too much is not enough!
Enjoy! Ooooooo...and the house smells wonderful even as I have it purring away in the rec-room downstairs!
  3. Oh My goodness - i think i'll just dust off my machine and give this a try. I admit that i haven't used it much as i didn't have much success - perhaps as i never waited the full 8 hours, lol . And its an excuse to head back to costco for a can - not that i need an excuse(i've already been once this week, lol)
    Thanks so much Lynn
  4. Oh, Hon...SO easy! Just pat the pineapple rings dry(er), and place them on the racks of your dehydrator..iirc, it took the better part of the day, perhaps 6-8hrs for them to be as dry as I like them to be. They're so good to snack on, as well as keep in jars for recipes. Hope that helps...
    I found this for you:

...and, that's my dehydrator....works like a charm...now I'm looking at all the other stuff to dehydrate on youtube!
    Might be a busy fall!
  5. Hi Lynn - don't suppose you could tell me more about that dried pineapple you make(read about it on Krazes "I'm slowly dying post...")...i'd love to give it a try
    Thanks!!
  6. No problem Hon, and thank you (I haven't publicized it..)....his biopsy on his forehead indicated cancer, so he's returning to Toronto to have more tissue removed (checked, removed, checked etc) until no more cancer cells are present, then some reconstructive surgery will be done, and hopefully we'll be able to drive home later that same day. Each removal/biopsy takes an hour, so it could be pretty tedious...I'm sure everything will turn out fine.
And yes, although it's always nice to get away, it's certainly nice to be home...we'll be in Florida for the month of March, and although it's nice to shop, do the Disney thing, eat out most of the time, I'm really ready to be home by the end of the month! AND there had better not be any snow here by the time we get back!
    Take care, Hon!
  7. Oh goodness Lynn , didn't know about dh.....will be thinking of you both in the next few days and hoping all goes well. I'm always relieved to be back home after a trip to any "big" city...and certainly look forward to being back in my own home, surrounded by my own stuff and in my own bed!!...i am such a home-body,lol
  8. Great idea, Hon!! A cuppa Mohito tea would just hit the spot! Unfortunately our wee Jenny is at the sitter for a couple of days since my DH is having a little bit of surgery on Thursday morning in Toronto, so we'll be leaving tomorrow for the 'big' city....
But yes...aren't they the absolute best company?!!
    Hope we feel better soon......Lynn
  9. Sorry Lynn, i'm all out of (rep) love..but wanted to say you should just do what i'm doing after stuffing too many pancakes...veg on the sofa with a cup of tea in one hand, a warm laptop and a woof for company
    Feel better soon
  10. You're welcome, Hon...don't worry..just follow the steps I gave you and you'll be fine. Sanding that "laminate" finish isn't an option since it's not wood and all you'd do is take chips out of it..the Liquid Sandpaper is perfect! Good luck!
  11. Oh, I so wish him the best of luck getting into the program he wants! "Geriatrics" is a growing field...I should know! I hope you're planning a great graduation party!
  12. Well he's put in his application for a CEGEP(college)programme - so we're waiting on that!
Wonder where the time went??Before you know it dd will be there too
  13. HA I'm too chicken to be on the list....
  14. Kazm-l, thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. It means a lot to me. I look forward to asking the questions again...far less pressure! LOL!!! Hope you're on the list!
  15. Hi Lynn, Just wanted to say how much i'm enjoying reading about you in the Spotlight thread. You really do have a way with words!!
