The url it's asking for you can get from right clicking a photo on the internet, clicking properties, and copying the URL. Then you paste it into the space. You can always upload photos into an album (you can start an album on your profile) and then doing the same with the URL.

Thanks so much for the explanation mle...after hopping on the Happy Rep Day thread my reps went crazy and now I have my first star...wooohooo! lol I wish How can I insert pics on my posts? The only option to insert image says I need a URL? All my pics are jpgs or gifs. The candies will have to wait as I'm just getting into the reps now...lol You are awesome but I couldn't rep you today...says it has to be passed around. Thanks!

Basically people give you reps when you make a good post or just because. So reps are kind of a measure of your contributions/presence on SC. You can see who has given you a rep if you click "user CP" in the red bar above. The blocks go from green to lime to yellow and when you get a full bar you get a blue star. when you get 5 blue stars, you get a pink star. When you get 5 pink stars, you get a yellow star. Then you get hearts.

Candies can be used to buy people "gifts" (those little images with messages that you can see in the side bar of people's posts) or other things like making your user title or user name coloured. If you have enough candies, you can buy things in candyland (click "Community" in the same red bar as the User CP option, then select candyland). You earn candies by posting and starting threads, and I think you can donate candies to others. I'm not sure if there are other ways to earn candies though.

I found it..and posted something there with credits to you for the referral....lol thanks! But I'm still not sure what reps are for and what you get from them? I got some notifications just now with comments and I noticed a lot more green little blocks at the top right corner of my profile and some yellow now too. I will have to lurk also to learn more...lol And what are candies...lol

The tea room is just a discussion thread about all sorts of topics. It's a good way to get to know fellow sc'ers outside of the coupon posts.

I've been lurking for about a year and a half but joined the forum last month, so I'm fairly familiar with the site. Sometimes I mess up all the coupon/deals sections, there are a couple for different reasons and I post in the wrong places. I love SC too, it's just great- and I've saved so much $$$ because of it!

I try to give thumbs up and press that scale for posts/threads that are useful to me, creative, funny or just wacky...but still not completely familiar with the whole site. It's huge! And I could spend hours on here if I'm not careful...lol Where is this Happy Rep Day thread? Thanks for the heads up and will try to get around more. I love SC!

lol no problem! Reeping is a good way to get familiar with other sc'ers. Posting in the "Happy Rep Day Thread" is great too. I try to rep everyone who has posted there until I get the message that I've repped too much in the last 24 hours
