Conversation Between The Jester and Andit

  1. I go to Brimley-Lawrence, they're not too bad. They let you opt out of things that aren't necessary and present all prices up front. Bedside manner is hit & miss, since they hire young vets starting out who need the practical hands on & are basically cheap labour. Considering I couldn't get into vet college with an 86 average (at that time, 93% was a minimum), the vet who graduates at the bottom of the class is still smarter than the average GP.

I once went to another vet who wanted to charge an arm & a paw for unnecessary things & threatened to report me for abuse when I declined.

    How is Baxter these days?
  2. Teach Baxter to 'bounce'. When I ask Lily dog to bounce, she jumps up & down until I finally give her her treat. It's the lazy approach to exercising a doggy.
  3. i'm slowly getting back to normal (still slower than my old Type A ways, but I'll take it ).

    How are things with you?
  4. Not sure if it was a bee sting or a spider bite (friend's critter had a swollen eye from that). Still a little bit of a bump, but can't find any trace of where she was bitten (checked both on her snout and inside her mouth - she puts up with a lot from me ). We're also using salt water to draw out any infection (I soak a cotton ball & hold it to the area).

Oh & she's doing a good job of making me feel guilty with the puppy dog woe-begone eyes. Spent yesterday making banana chips for her.

    Hope all is well.
  5. Congratulations on your new blue Andi
  6. Ah, but that would mean I'd have to learn Braille. Maybe the cat can learn & translate for me...assuming he isn't tempted to shred the documents.
  7. Wish I knew. Part of the problem is that everyone does their own thing - one comes and revamps the gas line, fills in the street, next group comes and digs it up and revamps the water main and fills it in, next group comes along and causes a gas leak cause they don't pay attention to where the lines are, etc etc. We're supposed to get streetcar tracks on Cherry (I'm on Mill, empty lot beside me, then Cherry), so that adds to it (we'll see if that goes through, plans keep changing). The PanAm welcome centre will be behind my building, now it's parking for the workers.

Bring on 2015, so I can be in the most secure building in Canada (been warned I'll need special ID to walk the dog and leave the area). Should be a fun adventure.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
  8. Regarding the dual citizenship, it was info on Hungarian citizenship. There's a push on to right a few wrongs of the past (personally I think it has to do with getting numbers up for EU counts). It would appear that as a child of Hungarian parents born here in Toronto, I am eligible. Now comes the endless pain in the neck paperwork part.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
