It may be legal to upload a video as long as a person is in a public place, UNLESS its a minor, and to add to that, this contest says "upload a video of YOUR squirmy baby" to which she basically agreed to the terms and conditions to saying it was hers.

We may get videotaped all the time but the child or parent of the child that got taped by a complete stranger must give permission for the video to be uploaded to a third party... It's different than you stepping on a bus with security cameras as it tells you before you get on the bus that you are being recorded. What that person did, recording another person's child, then uploading it to a website is really wrong. He or she did not give the child or the parent 'warning' of the possibility of being taped by the recorder. I hope they see that video and contact the authorities..

Actually, there has to be signs posted informing the public they are being videotaped. You may not see them but they are always in the building/area that is being surveillanced. It's the law.

I just think whether or not its the law, I plain and simple don't think it's right that someone recored someone else's baby without telling them and then posted it to youtube! I completely agree that there signs all over the place that say "you are under video surveillance", or "smile your on camera" we just don't see them on a daily basis because we generally aren't worried about being on camera. And getting on a bus or going into a store and being video taped is completely different than taping someone and putting that video on the internet! The store is only going to review it for criminal behaviour.

The main reason its wrong is simple.... she felt uncomfortable putting her own child on there. If she felt uncomfortable putting her own child on, its completely wrong to put someone else's on. I put mine on, but that was my choice..... those parents didnt get to make that decision.

Yep..just heard Sarah Ferguson (Duchess of York) might get 22 years for secretly filming orphans in Turkey for a documentary. They are trying to extradite her now for breaching the children's privacy

I am sorry I posted this offer at all. Honestly people! Implying that someone doesn't love their child because they post a video on a Huggies promotion via Youtube is just plain wrong. If you don't want to do this freebie then don't. There's no need to post on here at all about how you don't want to put your child at risk, love your child too much, don't want to exploit them, etc. trying to make those of us who did chose to do the offer look like irresponsible, unloving, greedy parents.

    Shame on you!

Thank you so much 1. For posting the offer 2. For expressing my inner voice about all the bashing. I took he offer and yes I love my children so much, I want to show them off!! I respect those who don't feel that way, their choice.

I don't think if you posted that makes you any less loving of a parent. The only person on this thread that I am looking down on is the person who posted someone else's kid without their knowledge. No one should feel bad or made to feel bad if they took part in this promo and posted their own child.

    This has gone too far.

A lot of people including myself have thanked you for posting it but respectfully declined. We also maintain the right to post our opinions and why we are not participating. Is it so wrong to say that I don't want to put my children on the Internet? Everyone else gets to say that they participated and how much they think their child is so special I know I never said that people who are participating in this don't love their kids and I don't think I've read that from anyone at all. With that being said, I really feel sorry for you or anyone else on here who feels that they are "unloving, greedy" parents because one or two people "implied" that "you" were.. that's definitely not something that the majority of people are posting in this thread.

Just saying.. the last few posts have been about someone who recorded someone else's kid without permission to get free diapers, not about how those who put up videos are greedy and unloving. My god..
