Hi, Hicks. With our Grandson here, I have very little time to myself. And although my Hubby took him to Science North today for a few hours, I treasured those alone times and knit. Peacefully. With Jenny wrapped like her usual burrito self on my lap. I also had to make up a batch of non-corn-syrup caramel popcorn because I accidently tipped our Grandson's bowl of 'bought' crap on the floor. Oopsies! Neither is what I'd call nutritionally perfect, lol, but homemade is always better; I know what I put into it!
How are you today, Hon? Are the days getting any easier on those crutches? What about pain relief?
And where on earth is Jake?! He must be a handful if you still have him at home....
Have a lovely rest this evening, watch one or two Christmas shows (I have all of them PVR'd even though I've seen most of them a gazillion times!). Shortly we'll be watching The Grinch movie (not the animated one)...with caramel popcorn, of course!
Take good care, Sweetheart and thank you for thinking of me as if you don't have ENOUGH on your plate!! {{{HUGs}}}

hicks, hope you are managing alright, somehow...
Lynn, if you watch so much Christmas stuff now, what will you do by mid-December?
I'm watching/listening to Masterchef Australia online - it's near the finals.
Husband went somewhere where there is an empty bay (he works for a commercial property place) so he can unload his van and re-organize it. It's basically his combo mobile tool store and parts supply conglomeration!

Enjoy your tim with your GS, those days pass so quickly. Wow, you make you own popcorn topping, impressive, and take advantage of those quiet times.
I'm not doing crutches; much too dangerous.
As for Jake, he's absolutely with me, but he's really off, he seems 'down'; he just doesn't understand. All these strangers walking in, the chair rolling around, I can't go out back with him, can't play, & no walks. He's laying around all day; he's getting no exercise and not eating well. I'm a little worried, 'cause it's not going to be a week or two, but months. As you know, it's painful, and in some areas, getting harder. Oh well, it will, in time.
Anyhow, enjoy the movie, and thanks for asking.

Hello folks!
I talked with a good friend today. She's heading off to Australia at the end of the month for her grand-daughter's wedding. Then somehow she is winding up in Dubai on her way home. She won't get home until New Year's. I am going to miss her over the holidays. We usually stay with her on Christmas Eve and then open gifts in the morning and then head off to my brother's for the rest of the day.
We'll have to make alternative plans.
Hope you can get someone to help you with exercising Jake, Hicks. And I have been sending you healing vibes. Hope you are going to be less pain-ridden soon.Last edited by avoncallingu; Sun, Nov 15th, 2015 at 09:19 AM. Reason: stupid auto-correct!

What a wonderful day I had yesterday. My daughter and I went bridal
gown shopping. Both our appointments were in south Mississauga, and
we had lunch in between. We felt like we were on TLC's 'Say Yes To
the Dress'. She tried on gown after gown and looked fabulous in
every one. I photographed her front and back in each one, so that
we could remember our favorites. At our second appointment, when
she tried on gown number five, something magical happened. We
both loved it...the slim and flared cut, the artistically placed lace
over tulle, the lovely neckline, the handcut lace straps, the subtle
sparkle and light-catching effect of the scattered sequins, the
unbelievable softness of the beautiful train, the demure scooped
open back with satin covered buttons at the closing. Her expression
changed, she couldn't stop admiring it. She went into the change
room, and then came right back out with the gown still on,
saying she couldn't take it off. We discussed more, and then
she got all red-faced and teary eyed, and I asked her if she was
saying 'Yes' to the dress, and she immediately said "Yes!".
The consultant gave her a brass hand bell, she rang it, and
everyone in the salon clapped happily! It's a moment we both
will always treasure.
