I retired from being a Wedding Officiant just before Christmas and although I do miss times like this, in this video, I'm going to enjoy having my summer weekends back to spend camping with our DD, her DH and our wonderful Grandson...
Anyway...this couple was so special to me....and so fun, I thought I'd post it..
Yep, that's me...40lbs heavier! LOL!!! There's a bit of a break in the ceremony for pictures, but it goes back to the wedding later in the video...
So....I guess it's a little "good-bye" for me...releasing some very precious moments I've spent with my couples over 5 years...I hope it's okay to post this...it is on youtube...This thread is currently associated with: Guess

Thank you, Hon...precious indeed; I absolutely loved meeting my new couples and planning their wedding ceremonies with them, whether they were large or intimate gatherings. But not having a Saturday open for about 5 years...that was the part I needed back now that we're camping with our kids and grandson...But....it was certainly an honour to be part of those wonderful days!

Lynn, that is so special you were able to see the joy on their faces and be a part of a wonderful day for the brides and grooms you have officiated over the years. Enjoy you're retirement.

Sob...so coincidently my notice from the Registrar's office just arrived by courier that I'm no longer registered to officiate!!
TODAY of all days! Just after I had posted this thread....it arrives...as if I knew something was in the air....wow. Now I really feel retired!!! What mixed emotions...if I wasn't on this diet, I'd have a glass of whine...I mean...wine!! That will have to wait until Superbowl Sunday!

So wonderful that you got to be a special part of so many couples' ceremonies; they were indeed fortunate to have you as officiant.
It's great that in this vid they used your words as the voice-over!
Enjoy your much deserved retirement!

What a gorgeous wedding video, I loved it. And Lynn I have to say that you look and sound as sweet as I have imagined. You must have some amazing memories in your heart and on video of the last 5 years, how wonderful.

Thank you, Tara...I used my "serious" voice when I performed weddings, lol...it just doesn't sound like me, but then again, isn't that what everyone says when they hear themselves? Yes, amazing memories and only one bridezilla...omg I wanted to tell the groom to "RUN!!"....hahaha!! Yes, Darlin', awesome memories and thank you cards and letters....maybe one day when I get too old to go camping anymore, I'll take it up again...for now, I've left it all in the most capable hands of Avon...on her turf, of course..
I forgot to mention that I also performed Baptisms and Naming Ceremonies...such beautiful little lives and proud parents and family. I also performed my best friend of over 25 years Memorial Service...I could still perform funerals, but jeepers...I just don't know, you know??Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Jan 28th, 2015 at 11:17 PM.

Wow, what an Awesome job you did!I think marrying people must be a little bit like delivering babies, eh? Demanding, bad hours but Very rewarding! Lol
You've obviously shared in the joy of many lives Lynn and I can't think of a nicer person to do so!!
Congrats on a beautiful career and a long and happy retirement.

Thank you, MQ, TCC...you're so right! I loved the feeling that I was creating a new family...there's a line in my ceremony that I always had to keep myself from tearing up when I said it: "Today a new family is born and we're all thankful for it's birth." OMG, that always got to me!!!
I told our DD how receiving that notice from the Registrar's office that I was no longer an officiant just hit me in the tummy....she said, "Like you were someone and now you're not anymore?" Lol....um, yah. Like that.Last edited by Lynn49; Thu, Jan 29th, 2015 at 09:42 AM.

Aw, thank you, Ticul....marrying couples provided me with so much joy, and to see them all so very nervous at our first meeting, to hugging after that meeting, lol, to then seeing them take that first kiss as husband and wife...omg, it has been such an honour!! Take good care, Sweetie!!
