Thread: Best Job/Worst Job
-
Fri, Feb 20th, 2015, 10:32 AM #1
I am always interested in what people do for a living.
What was the best job you have ever had, and the worst job? What do you do now?
Do you know someone with an unusual or particularly fabulous job?
You can define what made the job great or awful for you - I'm sure it's different for everyone! This thread is currently associated with: N/AUnique items and great deals to be found on the Halifax Cat Rescue Society auction page.

Nice question..
When I was barely 18, I was working at a salon and a frequent customer always came in and he owned a local restaurant. I was looking to pick up some extra cash and he offered me a job as a waitress.. even though it was illegal because I was underage. Anyway, the boss turned out to be a disgusting misogynistic jerk. Was 30+ years my age senior and made vulgar and derogatory comments towards me in front of other staff and even customers.. I could go on and on, I left not long after.
Went to school for make up art.. did that solo for a bit. But fam and friends take advantage of you and think of it more of a hobby than a career.
Still looking for a job I like doing

Worst job I ever had lasted one day - and me not coming back was totally by mutual agreement. I was in my mid-teens, and my sister was working in a local bakery at the front - and they needed some extra help. Well, I got put in the back where the ovens were, packaging buns.
All I did was sweat in that hellish inferno - it was absolutely horrific.
Best job ever was teaching - and I've taught everything from K+, adult upgrading, ESL/literacy, college/university tutoring. Overall, my favourite grades to teach are Two or Three - and they are very different from one another, too!

My first job was at Lick's. It was awful. I hated the uniform and having to sing. That was my worst job by far.
My best was assistant manager at a beauty supply store while in University. We got loads of freebies and the job was super easy and fun.

Winners is my best job ever, the pay sucks but they have been so good to me with my Cancer! I could not ask for a better staff to work with, most of us are woman and still we get along like we are best friends! They have collected over $200 for my expenses!
We all got hired 2 years ago and put the store together, it was a lot of fun to open a new Winners!
