Loblaws (ON) - Online grocery order and pick up serivce

Not sure if this has been posted already.

Loblaws is letting people order online and pick up at the store. At some stores, there are designated parking spots for pick up, so you don't have to drive around to find a spot. I was renovations going on at one store inside and outside.
There are now 8 stores participating and more to come over the next few months.

Good idea for seniors, people with disabilites and families with babies and little children, who don't want to walk through a huge store. Not sure about prices and fees though.

This sounds intriguing. I'm not convinced that I want it bad enough to spend up to $5.00 for it, though.

I guess Loblaws believes there is money to be made thru online shopping. There other stores that deliver like grocery gateway. I was driving along and noticed someone getting their groceries delivered. They had their car all packed for the cottage and just put the groceries in the car too and left.

If it was offered here (Alberta) I would pay the $5 in an instant. Shopping with 3 kids 5 and under, that would save me money for all the things they NEED to throw in. And save my sanity.

Seems like the Ontario pilot stores worked out so they are expanding into Ontario. Hopefully they will add Edmonton soon.

You are right about time saved compared to shopping with children. Other parents may see the same advantage that you do.

Maybe they checked out the problems that UPS or Fed Ex had with delivering but no one being home, and decided against it.
