Today is Tax Freedom Day. Newfoundland and Labrador, yours is next week.

Tax Freedom Day means that you have paid all your dues to the government. From this month on, you are now working for yourself and all your money belongs to you!

Question: Do you feel richer than you were last week?

Do you feel richer than you were last week?

No.

Very grateful to live in this country, my province, my city - for all the things which paying our taxes provide.
Health care, most especially - and everything down to police services and fire fighting in our city.

Interesting - our provincial tax freedom day was June 1.

There is a calculator online where you can figure out your personal tax freedom day. Ours was May 11.

Happy Tax Freedom Day!

As happy as I am, I still feel chained to the taxman. It seems that the governments keep spending my money on frivolous things and keep digging into my pockets because they ran out of money.

Yes, you are right. The date varies by province. Most provinces have reached the date this week.

Not sure but we feel more stable financially.

Ours was May 25th...no complaints here: I'd rather pay our taxes than live with the US system.
