I don't believe a word of this. I've had a paypal account for 5 or 6 years and am closely affiliated with several websites that use paypal. If this story is true I'll eat my hat.

I bet you there is a "grain" of truth somewhere in there, and the truth got stretched... I'm a firm believer that one never gets the entire story anywhere on the internet. It sounds bogus to me.

The Donate button allows them to get past the paypal business fees, we have one as a non profit, it states non profit in its terms - yes there is the small print that it can be used for other causes in select cases and many ppl use the donate button on their websites. But when you are selling something, its not a donation
She SHOULD be using the buy now button instead
Just because she donates doesn't mean they are not a company and her whole Amazon thing makes no sense since they dont accept paypal as a form of payment - probably for the exact reason as she is experiencing
Despite that, ppl donated money which she admits she already bought toys with, now she wants to sell those toys (as donations) instead of just giving them to the children they were meant for in the applications she already vetted - the whole thing makes no sense

I volunteer with a non profit and they froze our account and we had to jump through a load of hoops to get it running again. Once they did we decided to tell them to stuff it and shut it down anyway.

Paypal's resolution
Last night we became aware of an issue with one of our account holders, Regretsy.com. Though we can’t comment specifically on the account due to our privacy policy, we can confirm that the funds have been released and we are working directly with the account holder on this matter. Just like anyone else, we believe strongly in helping those in need, especially around the holiday season. We are working with Regretsy to make a donation to help their cause, and we’re truly sorry this occurred. For background, we have clear guidelines for any business that uses PayPal to accept donations. For example, we require certain documentation to prevent misuse of the donated funds and, if the recipient claims charitable status, to determine whether they are properly registered. We do this to protect our customers and to protect our business. As a regulated payment service, we’re also required by law to follow these guidelines.
We appreciate that this can be an inconvenience, but we have a responsibility to all our customers – both donors and recipients; and buyers and sellers. In this instance, we recognized our error and moved as swiftly as possible to fix it.
Thanks,
–Anuj Nayar, Director of Communications, PayPal

Its regretsy. That woman is ruthless and one of the most dispacable racist person I've ever followed. When she first started her blog it was funny. After she started making fun of other races and mentally challenged I stopped following.
Short story. Woman talks a lot of smack and jumps the gun all the time. Shes made me hate clarabell cow on mickey mouse since shes the voice of it.
I've used paypal for almost 10 years or so and love them. I have over 1000 transactions with them.Last edited by Sally888; Wed, Dec 7th, 2011 at 02:12 PM.
