    You are probably correct that it is not 'required'. However, I think it is fair to say that it is generally assumed that trade ratings are left as the final phase of the trade. I consider it (a) good manners to say thank-you no matter I am in life; and (b) an investment in being the kind of person others enjoy trading with. For those of us who have trade ratings over 50 it probably isn't the end of the world if someone forgets but for newbies it can make it tough to establish a rating.

    If I have a heavy envie i take it to sdm. They weigh it. The young guy working there knows not to just automatic take my envies and mail them. I told him once that when they took them and put in that drawer it went MIA for a longgggggg time. I told him i coupon and these envies are very time senstitve... Maybe I should write that on the envie to?????? Anyways... I weigh and stamp them and I go outside and put them in a mailbox. I like to skip the middle man imo.

    I once was mailing something to the USA.. to my penpal. I went to a diff sdm since I was in the area. She gave me a stamp took my envie scribbled on the bk where my return address was. Im like ?????????? she said the processor might read my return address and it mail it to me instead of my penpal.. im like LOLWUT? I told her I would write my address on the front.. she said no its fine. My return address needs to be seen to have it delivered. When i got home I was very annoyed after thinking about it after the shock of her scribbling on my envie!!!!!

    I always want a trade rating. What is the point of the trade rating if no one seems to want to rate someone?
    Also with not reading your itrader through the automatic msg. Instead some just go to their itrader and it looks like they havent even read their rating... Ppl might not care and I didnt write that to debate with anyone , but I care. IMO there are steps that are set out to follow... why they are not followed everytime is beyond me.

    Whenever I have sent something guaranteed delivery, they have always refunded my money if it didn't make it. I've done it 3 or 4 times I think. One time, I sent something overnight priority. It cost like $50 and it didn't make it, they refunded me in full no questions asked. I just call their 1-800 number.

    One of them actually put that I NEEDED to put the postal code on the same line as the province and then mail from the post office because it would get to them faster.

    I don't feel it is going to make a difference, mail is all over the place as it is for me. Any trade that is sent from Ontario usually won't get to me for at LEAST 2 weeks, where trades from NS and NB get to me within the week.

    People are crazy I tell you, CP superstitions.

    I just went and bought a scale from Canadian Tire too as I don't want to have to go to the post office every day to mail stuff when there is a box a block away. I will need to go to them and get an assortment of stamps so I am not wasting postage just applying P stamps to the envies.

    I really don't feel right giving a person with 40 trades (all positive) her first negative feed back score but I'm to the point where I feel like the smart canucker isn't giving me any choice.

    I guess I'm more so venting right now, but I've never had to give negative feed back and I really don't want to ruin such a positive reputation that she's maintained!
    If it was just a coupon or two I may not even really care, but it was just a coupon or two.
    I took the time to cut down a whole bunch of smartsource, in exchange for a $10.00 shoppers gift card. Not only did the envelope cost me quiet a bit, it takes time to cut them all down.

    Maybe tell me what you guys think?

    - August 6th - trade done
    - August 9th - She messages me saying my gift card was sent
    - August 17th - She receives my envelope and leaves me positive feedback
    - August 22nd - I messaged her saying " i assume you got my envie since you left me a rating! Just following up to see if my gift card was send as I still haven't received it" Same day she says it should be along shortly.

    I did a lot of trades in august, and I thought I got them all.

    - Oct 3rd - She messages me saying that she just got my envie back from the post office. She said everything on it was written correctly and had the correct postage. But the envelope said "I've moved" and it got sent back to her, two months later... (She mailed it august, and it got mailed back to her October) She said she would re send it asap.

    Oct 4th - She messaged me saying she wrote "19" Instead of my unit number "119" she said she would send it back out that day.

    Oct 25th - I message her - Following up again, still have not received your envelope.

    Nov 6th - I message her - Asking what is going on, have not heard from you, and its been months since our trade

    Nov 11th - I message her saying I would appreciate a response.


    I dont want threaten her with a negative feedback score, so I never put in my messages " your leaving me no choice but to give you bad feedback" but I feel now that she really isnt giving me any options.

    She wont message me back and I check to see the last time she was on smart canucks, and she is on very often therefore she is getting my messages and not replying.

    FYI: Negative feedback scores can be corrected by moderators once the situation is cleared up. Hope it works out for you

    You gave her more then enough time to respond. Let her know that if you wont hear from her within the next week your intentions ofthe negative feedback. That gives her enough time to talk this over with you for her last chance. Thats just my opinion.

    Personally I don't think enough people are using the Neutral rating. It seems we are either positive or negative. We are afraid there maybe repercussions if we do leave a negative.

    My two cents.

    Since she's been ignoring your attempts to contact her I would think that a negative is in order. It's not like the gift card is lost in the mail right now, mis-addressed or got misdelivered - any of those could have happened since she said she resent it BUT since she is not contacting you after three attempts of you messaging her than I would think a negative feedback is fair.

    I would hate to get a negative feedback. However, if I was in suck a pickle, I would get in the card and drive the gift card to your house. She isn't making the effort. Leave the feedback and let the moderators fix it if she resolves it.

    You know, if the girl would have said " Im strapped for cash right now/lost the gift card and dont have money to buy another one" or something along those lines I would have completely understood and said that I would take some coupons or even wait longer for the gift card, but at this point I know she is surfing around on smartcanucks and is getting my messages and choosing not to reply.

    At this point I dont think It has anything to do with Canada post.

    I have noticed a real decline in the service from SDm postal outlets. Every songle time I mail fro mthem they take forever. I stopped about 2 months ago when I saw KK7 post about using her kitchen scale and I have one. Ever since them my envis have been taking the normal amount of time!!!!
