Ok, someone fill me in briefly on what I missed?
I would say I trade SDM points somewhat frequently and mine are still there. Not that I have many left (155) but they exist! I also did a RAOK 2 days ago with points and nothing happened.
I also did a trade with crispiecreme and received her end. She says she has not received mine though and they were sent out back in October.

First of all, my heart goes out to everyone who lost points. I know if it had been me, I would have been devastated. We all work so hard to earn our points to make Christmas more special for our families and to think someone would do something like this here on SC is even more disturbing. This is such a great community.
I sent my Optimum number to the person in question for the RAOK and my points were fine. I think every member of SC should be taking a minute to write or call SDM on Monday and complain about their lax security log in so that this never has to happen again!
Sally888, I'm so sorry especially to hear of your own points loss, and that people were pointing fingers at you. The mods here are wonderful. If not for Boo and Amber and Sally, most of us wouldn't have any SDM points to begin with!
Hopefully we get some answers tomorrow from SDM and can lay all these suspicions to rest.

Sally,
When you have time after dealing with the whole SDM fiasco, could you please(pretty please?) remove the negative feedback that I was given by Halifaxgirl? I have never even traded with her. She was supposed to send me and another trader an envie on a Secret Sender train and didn't. She gave me a negative in retaliation to the negative I left for her.
I bet you wish you were still on vacation!!

Very well said and thanks Ashokia. I think for me it has just made it all seem worse because I am stressed to the max anyways with exams and papers being due. While still juggling my kids and miniscule finances. Just breath.......... thank goodness that is still free.
And I also want to add my thanks to all the Angels on SC, especially the Mods, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be able to congregate here!Looking for: Yogurt (FPCs)

I am starting to lean this way too - its seems fishy that SDM was updating on Friday and so many people lost there points on Friday... any chance everyone checked there points on Friday night during an update?
I scan daily when the comp turns on.
Never traded using hubbys card - its link to our SDM Mastercard
Checked his points Friday evening around 10-11pm on his iPhone.
I have never noticed a log out button before... is this part of the update?SWAGBUCKS!!! Earn gift cards for searching & doing surveys!

The only change that I see once logged in is that it shows you were you are in regards to plus status; it only showed your points level before.

No log out button just the "update info" or Cancel at the bottom of your info.
I too am beleiving it is some kind of SDM site either screw up OR hacker. Considering some never traded SDM points to the person that others have mentioned or even at all like Sally.
As for only certain people getting points stolen even though a lot checked their balances about the same time it could be either the person(s) only went after those large sums rather than taking multiples of little amounts since it's faster or maybe it was the actual time of day/night that people accessed their accountsThat's just my thoughts

I hope it gets worked out for everyone
If it was me id be calling SDM non stop as their regular CS people would be in now and they're usually 100x more helpful (my experience anyway) I would call just to get an update on the process of the investigation. It should be pretty black & white as they must have records of the changes on the account, and where the points were spent!
Like, my address on my optimum account isn't where I live. But I shop at a SDM a block away from my home almost every day to grab milk, bread, etc.. So when theres a promo, they call me, they don't know I live down the street, but they see via my optimum I shop there several times a week, so sdm should easily have access to this information.

I think it automatically logs you out (hopefully)
Ive noticed if I go online to lets say, check my points balance. If I wanted to then transfer points after that, I have to log in again to do so. Or lets say I'm looking at my optimum page, and see an ad for 15x the points on something and I click on that to leave the page, I have to log in again to access the optimum page again even if I never closed the window.

i am lost as to whats happening here but a frequent trader of points. one tool i use cuz i only have one card is that i dont use my house address but another known (approved by the persons) address so no one could connect my card with my address. I will be interested to hear the outcome of this in the future and for now im holding off trades bc i couldnt afford to lose any points. As you see in the media how many different sites have been hacked these days, wouldnt surprise me if someone got into SDMs. esp if they can hack sony, etc.
