I think people can be a group member of one group and a group leader of another group at the same time, right? That way, the maximum points one can get is: 5000+4545+4545=14090.

Yes, you can make your own group OUTSIDE SC after you're registered in a group. But if you're already a group leader of your own group, you can't register again inside one of ours. (You can only register once.)

You were NEVER allowed to buy gift cards as your required purchase. Your purchase is allowed to include gift cards, but you must meet the required $-amount not including the PURCHASE of gift cards. Gift cards are treated like cash. You can pay for things with them, but no one's giving you a bonus for buying cash. This is in the FAQ, even before being updated.

Signed up! Gah, I'm still waiting for a bonus redemption event to spend the points from May's event. I'll be overflowing with points by the end of this. Hopefully they'll have a redemption event soon after (which I think they usually do).
