I know all of you are familiar with these techniques, but it is still amazing how much groceries this women can get! She got almost $300 worth of groceries for $0.01!

I think the hardest part is buying fresh produce. Coupons are mostly for unhealthy packaged food. Sometimes it makes you wonder why you spend $3 on less than a pound of mushrooms while you could just buy a burger.

Great job... THAT is what everyone here on SC would be able to do IF we lived in the US. We have some great things working for/with us as far as shopping goes in Canada, but compare it in the big picture to the US... US wins, lol!

[EDIT] ... I have yet to see a cashier give flack to the customer on one of these videos ... maybe it is a myth, LOL!
... I'm earning $5-25 Amazon.ca gift cards EVERY month, are you?

P.S. ... starting to hunt for ShoppingChannel GC's with no minimum purchase ...

I know this is about the woman's couponing skills, but the girl interviewing/following her around had such a niiiice shirt, I loooved the colour!

Back to the topic, good job! It's a shame we don't have those types of coupons in Canada, for like food and stuff, but I figure if I can save everywhere else (health and beauty, clothes) I don't mind my grocery bill. And collecting PC points (at Loblaws), plus AM when I was my MC, I'm cool.

I've seen Americans visit my little tourist town, and they cannot believe our high grocery prices... for vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, eggs, milk, clothing.
And if we had the 2 growing seasons that so many of the American states have, we'd have low prices too. They have fruit and nut trees in their own backyards and on their boulevards; the produce would often go to waste until they started allowing disadvantaged people to pick it. They're also now into the urban gardening/sustainable living movement, with people learning how to garden and raise rabbits, fish, even chickens for food, right in their own backyards.
When they get a brownout, they tend to eat up all the food in the freezer and fridge; if that happened to me, I'd throw all the quilts in the house over top the freezer, and keep it frozen for days or weeks. I'd never eat it all up at once, just because it was starting to thaw. Food isn't taken for granted with me.

Shopping with coupons in Canada is very different.
And the USA's freebie websites and coupons are in super-abundance.
But, being a Canadian, I've been through lean times, and have learned to live like "Buck" in "The Call of the Wild". I can do with very, very little, and don't feel too panicked or in want. If all I get is one fish a day, my body has learned how to utilize it well. And even if I don't get that one fish a day, there's still a lot to draw on...in sheer will and Canadian determination.

Unfortunatly for now it is an unatainable dream here in Canada. At least couponers in the west have LD but for us here in ON not even that. Don't get me wrong I still use all the soupons I can as many have said it is like free money. The strange thing is that so many that don't coupon or work for the stores here give us a hard time, complain we are bad for wanting stuff free. People have to remember that the companies offering coupons or free product already figured it into the price we all pay. If we don't use them the company profit actually goes up with out us ever really knowing just how much they have actually given away partially or whole.
Years ago when the gas was cheapper my best friend and I cross border shopped alot, I wonder what would happen today if you got the border with a full load and presented the store recipes after a great coupon shop. If I had $200.00 stuff but only actually paid $0.00-$$40.00. Would the duly be on what the bill reads ??? Depending on the answer it would be worth while if you lived right in a border town.
Don't get me wrong I do try to support Canada but if it comes to feeding the family sometimes we all have to do what we have to do.
