Its a stormy morning here on the rock! We got about 25cm of snow overnight with another 5-10 in the forecast for today (woot!woot!) -3 feels like -11 winds are gusting to 90km/hr+

Its a nippy morning!! -9 feels like -18, winds gusting to 65km/hr..getting ready to go to the cabin just for a day of snowmobiling, etc. Will get the woodstove going so we have a warming centre, supposed to warm up to -4 for this afternoon

We had been having unseasonably warm temps of single digits below zero.
However, we got hit with a shock overnight. Now it's -34 windchill, temp -25.
Supposed to be -10 tomorrow.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Issued at 16:06 Thursday 13 February 2020
Very cold temperatures and wind chills are expected.
Coldest wind chills: generally -30 to -20 except -35 over the Great Northern Peninsula.
Maximum winds: northwesterly 50 km/h with gusts to 70.
Locations: Newfoundland.
Time span: tonight until Saturday morning.
Remarks: A frigid airmass will arrive tonight accompanied by strong northwesterly winds. The very cold conditions will persist through the day on Friday and into Friday night. This will be followed by a gradual moderating trend over the weekend.
An extreme cold warning has been issued for the Great Northern Peninsula where wind chills are expected to reach -35 overnight tonight and into Friday morning.
