SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Issued at 05:24 Saturday 22 May 2021
Long weekend system to bring snow, rain and wind.
Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm.
Total rainfall: 20 to 40 mm. Locally higher amounts possible.
Maximum wind gusts: 70 km/h except locally higher along parts of the coast.
Locations: northern, central, and northeastern Newfoundland.
Time span: this morning through midday on Monday.
Remarks: Rain over western Newfoundland will move across the island throughout the day today. The rain will taper to showers over most areas early Sunday morning before redeveloping around midday. The rain will transition to snow late in the day on Sunday over the Northern Peninsula, and early Monday morning across northeastern Newfoundland. Snow should taper off by midday Monday.
In addition, strong northerly winds will develop on Sunday night and diminish during the day on Monday.

Its a totally crappy weather long weekend, pouring rain since yesterday and wind and snow moving in later today but its given me a chance to work on a hutch that I bought on kijiji last year for $60 and was able to sand outside last Fall. Finally getting a chance to paint and work with Chalk Paint (and also using an ebony stain)...I probably won't get it all done this weekend
