Our storm has arrived!! Winds have been POWERFUL since this morning...15 cm of snow this morning but then changed to rain so a lot has already melted..+1 feels like -9 (I have a bag packed just in case as I am close to the ocean lol)

Summary
High Storm Surge levels and very large waves are expected to impact the coast.
Higher than normal water levels due to storm surge combined with large waves and pounding surf are expected from White Bay to Cape Race. Conditions will be at their worst near high tide on Thursday morning. Coastal flooding and damage to sea side infrastructure is possible, especially along northwest facing coastlines.
Conditions will begin to gradually subside Thursday afternoon and into Thursday evening.

Summary
Dangerous wind gusts causing widespread damage are expected or occurring.
Extremely Strong Winds for today and Thursday.
Strong southeasterly winds gusting to 100 km/h will shift to southwesterly this afternoon. Winds are expected to strengthen tonight, with gusts likely between 100 and 120 km/h.
Overnight tonight, winds are expected to shift to the northwest and strengthen even further for coastal areas from Twillingate to Bonavista. For these areas, wind gusts are expected to reach 150 km/h. These extreme winds will persist through Thursday morning before gradually diminishing Thursday afternoon and evening.

Winter weather travel advisory in effect beginning this afternoon.
Snow associated with a deepening low pressure system moving up along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States will reach Southern Ontario later this afternoon. The snow is forecast to continue through tonight into early Friday morning.
A snowfall of 5 to 10 cm is expected across the region, with most of the snow falling tonight. Poor winter driving conditions are expected. Untreated roads may become snow covered and slippery.
This snowfall may have major impacts on the commute this evening as well as the commute Friday morning. Motorists should plan for extra time to reach their destination.
This is the largest snowfall event so far this season, and the first significant snowfall for many parts of the Golden Horseshoe.
The snow will become mixed with rain on Friday as temperatures edge above the zero degree mark.

Our storm was intense --wow, the scariest one so far!! Luckily, I had no damage but others lost siding, shingles, minor damages, etc. We lost the power for 24 hours and cell phone service, etc but its sunny today and winds have calmed to 50km/hr gust this morning -2 feels like -9

Snowfall Warning
ssued at 05:22 Friday 16 November 2018
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected tonight into Saturday.
Snow will begin over southwestern Newfoundland early this evening and spread to the rest of the island by midnight. Snow is forecast to change to rain along the south coast by early Saturday morning, but will remain as snow throughout the day on Saturday for central and northeastern Newfoundland. Snow will taper off by Saturday evening.

Ohhhh we got lots of snow today ..wind pick up and at times it was nasty outside.. time 6pm snow stop and it did warm up some .
