I want to try and get into shape... I would like to slim down and get rid of some excess weight. I am trying to get down to the gym, and see how that works out. My mom got diagnosed with diabetes a couple years ago and she has lost a lot of weight and has inspired me to do so. When I go out home for Christmas I am sure we will go for daily walks together.

Reduce the carbs...lots of fruits and veggies.
Make your portions a little smaller, and regular exercise. Go for a walk after supper.
Be sensible and it comes off gradually, and the weight stays off.

Drinking at least 8 cups of water each and everyday. Be sure to eat a good breakfast with fiber to keep you going. Keep your fiber count up close to 35g each day by eating whole grains and lots of fruits and veggies. Be sure to get enough good fat (nuts, olive oil). Walk at least 30 minutes each day.

I wasn't trying to lose weight over the summer, but I ended up losing 10 pounds from all my biking (80km a week). I didn't need to lose the weight, but it's not too bad that I did. I just can't lose anymore weight, or my BMI (which is 20 right now) will almost be too low.
I now bike 8km a day to work, so I don't think I'm going to be putting the weight back on.

Try this BMI calculator here, it compares you to people with similar age and height:

i would like to lose weight. but its hard to know if im losing or gaining because we do not own a scale. its better that we dont have one...
i just want to look in the mirror and be content with my stomach area. thats pretty much it.

I'm always trying to lose weight. But I don't trust the scale. I always go by how my clothes fit. So if my jeans are looser, I'm happy. If they're tighter, it's time to go for more walks.

Oh I don't bother dieting or losing weight. I never got any stares or looks my way when I was slim. Heck now, I'm getting people staring, pointing fingers at me.. why break what's good? Heh heh, I'm teasing... I'm losing weight my way, my pace.
If I eat chocolate and someone says "I thought you were on a diet".. usually I respond with a smarmy comment. *razzies*
