I personally like SC too, but I have one major beef. That being when I mistakenly post something in a thread by mistake (meaning decided to post and then changed mind) and wish to remove the post entirely, I am not able to. I have to put at least a period in and save it and it gets posted that way.

I think thread starters should be able to delete their own threads. Right now, a mod can only do this. I had a beef with a WM thread that I posted eons ago, people were bashing me in it and I wanted it gone completely. This was around the time that WM was also contacting the forum for posting flyers too early. I reported it many times, please delete this for x reasons and it never got deleted. I went through and edited all my posts in it, with an x. I think it's still around somewhere. I know that threads CAN be deleted completely because I have seen it happen with stuff that is totally out of line and people get banned for it, but we should be able to delete stuff too. I understand that you are accountable for what you post, but sometimes people get upset over stuff and it's always there to remind them, came goes for replies in a thread too.

Also, regarding the searching comments. I agree that the search option sucks here, if you search for something, everyone with that word in the thread comes up I think, not just the thread title. Also some threads are poorly titled and thus are difficult to find. I don't think much can be done about that though, the search engine can only be tweaked so much. I don't generally search on this forum because it's too time consuming. I will instead post in the thread, and then go through my posts and find it, or my threads if I made the thread.

This would be my only frustration with an otherwise AMAZING site (:
It's frustrating when amazing programs get started up, and then falter because of lack of time/organization/etc. I'm a firm believer in "if you're going to do it, do it right," and it just feels like so many of the best features of SC to come out in the last little while have been let-downs because they just kind of died off in a storm of confusion or overwhelming response. The pre-Christmas $100 sponsor contest was AN AWESOME idea and concept, and it certainly had me coming back every day, but then it just kind of stopped, and we didn't get much in the way of info as to why. Ditto with the cashback system, which (from what I hear) was plagued with issues that never got resolved... and then eventually just got scrapped altogether.

Before adding new features I think we should revisit the ones we've abandoned - if only for the sake of learning from their post-mortems.

I completely agree. The old issues should be fixed before new and exciting features are added. They should be the priority since they involve so many people.

When banners are seen or reported, I PM the person to remove it. Not everyone is on everyday, so results are not going to be immediate. I would really rather a person remove it themselves and be aware of the rule. But if I notice a person has been online and it may seem like they are ignoring my request, it will get removed anyway.

If you're referring to threads in the Games Room, they're not contests. They are simply games wherein members can post silly things to alleviate the boredom. I speak (post) from experience.

You can't take it personally, its not just you, its lots. Heck, Daphne had been given her own special pinned thread to run, most people know why she sallied off into the sunset.

Not everyone makes a good mod, on many sites its NOT the frequent posters who are chosen. It takes a high level of maturity, a small ego, and ability to be objective. Many can't do it.

Daphne, to MY knowledge only, did not ask a mod or Boo for help. Now, I would have to double check with Boo on whether he ever did receive any PM from her about what was going on that was making her feel bad. But by the time I knew about the situation, she was long gone. I do wish I had known because that foolishness would have been stopped. When someone is nice enough to keep a thread up for us like that making her a target like that is unacceptable.
