goodnite-it is possibly going to freeze tonight and all my hard work with all my annuals that I have grown will all die then. It is always terrible when this happens every year. I for some reason hope it will hold off but it has to come at some point and it is never easy. It's at this time I wonder why I do it (also in the spring when all the work of starting them happens)? but then during the summer when they are growing is when I remember why!

it's almost midnight and at 11pm it was only +6 and that doesn't leave much room till it hits zero. here's hoping tomorrow morning I can say they survived another night!

I am sooooooo glad I am not going back to school today!

The first day of school was always a nightmare... I was physically ill. Once I got past the first day I was fine but the first day back I always felt like I was going to die.

Until I hit high school... then it was all good

Gee, would I be such an anomaly? I absolutely loved school - elementary, high school, and university. Then continued to love school, and work, as a teacher! I guess it makes a difference if you choose your passion!

Quebec Education Reform Schedule 2009/2010

34 Holidays between Sept. 1 and June 29

December - exams begin 2nd week of Dec. students need only attend the exam - some are over in 45 minutes - on days when they have no exams they stay home

June exams - begin June 7th students only attend exams and there are only 8 in the whole month - Exams are no longer provincial, they are made up by the teachers some are even allowed to start before the school year ends ???? what's the point

My son attended summer school for french

2 hours a day for 4 weeks.........everyday he would come home with stories of 9/11 conspiracy theories, Nazi's and the supernatural, how sex in advertising rules the world!!! I asked him when do you do your french work, Oh at the beginning of the class for about 45 minutes the rest of the time those conversations took place in ENGLISH!!! On Fridays the teacher would take them down to the music room and play the drums for the class. WTF???

The FINAL exam was an ENGLISH MOVIE with french subtitles on the history of rock and metal. I actually paid $150 for summer school. Am I an idiot or what?

95% of my friends have MATH tutors for their children. WHY??? In my friends DD school the average mark for GR. 10 math was 55%. Meaning everyone failed.
