Yes, its free stuff, but you can't use it to reduce OOP expenses to get your points too
Coupons are so much better for that

Yeah, definitely seems to be a store thing
One time I went with someone old enough for the official age to get some stuff for an animal shelter event, at the store who says 55 is good enough. She asked them for ID (fair enough) then went to the manager to ask "if 69 was enough".
Apart from all the customers laughing at the innuendo the manager basically said if someone asks for it they get it, so they might even let it go earlier than 55

I've got another question!
Come MR (I'm excited!) would I be able to take mom with me and get the 20% discount (yes, not on sale items, I understand) before redeeming? Would we need to switch the points to her card or could I just give her my card to use and she could then say "Hi, I'm a senior gimme discount"? Then we would have to come up with the difference in more items to make that $250 redemption?
Just thinking as if so that could make my 3 1/2 redemptions go that much further.Insert Clever Signature Here

If MR means the mega redemption SDM has offered the past 2 years note that it has been on weekends and not on Seniors Days which is the last Thursday of the month typically (but has been offered other Thursdays as well). So the Seniors 20% off is not applicable on Mega redemption day.

I have never redeemed before, so I just have some questions.... do you have to spend the whole amount of your redemption at once? can you get a declining balance card? what happens if you don't spend the whole amount of your redemption?
eg. based on what I saw for the mega demention 50,000 points would get $125 instead of $85.... do I need to spend more than $125 right then and there?

If you decide to redeem 50k for $125 and can only find say $115 worth of product to buy you forfit the remaining $10 worth of points. You cannot get the remainder balance back in GC or points.
Now with that being said I was once told that if you try to redeem $125 for $115 worth of product or whatever then the system will not allow you to redeem at all but I think its a bit of hocus pocus lies from the cashier.
Either way always bring a calculator, pen and paper when doing a redemption and write down each price of everything you put in. As you go add it up until you get to the $125 or whatever amount. I always suggest getting one or two items that you would want as well just in case something scans in cheaper then the shelf tag. If everything scans in right then just tell them you decided you no longer wanted those 2 items anymore.Insert Clever Signature Here

I'm pretty sure they do follow SCOP.
You should get the camera for $399 less $10 SCOP so $389Insert Clever Signature Here
