Shepherd's Pie tonight.
Bottom layer is hamburger, chicken chunks, frozen mixed veggies, tomato soup, a squeeze of ketchup and Worcestershire.
Middle layer is a can of cream corn, and cheese slices.
Top layer is mashed potatoes with a bit of butter, sour cream, and basil mixed in. And a bit of Paprika sprinkled on top looks really pretty.
I love comfort food!

Hmmm, Fringe (the show) premier is on tonight, my hubby and I will be catching it early on the shifting channel at 7pm. So we're planning to go to Pizza Hut a few blocks away for dinner. He wanted delivery but I have a coupon that I got from purchasing the SPC card. Yay so Pizza Hut for us.
Friday: appetizer - Vietnamese Spring rolls then Vietnamese Pho (beef noodle soup) - my lazy version ofcourse. My caucasian US citizen love these dishes.

I think those two dishes are cousins, Salade Olivier is the Russian version.

Hmm, I'll have to see how helpful my husband can be with translation help on that site!

That is being an AWESOME Mom! The only food I couldn't stomach was chicken livers - they smell heavenly while cooking, but I just couldn't handle the texture or taste. Same as when my mom made liver when I was younger.
But with my son, I would put something else on my dish so he wouldn't notice, or I'd be the one to have leftovers, etc. He didn't know I wasn't eating it til he was a teen!

It is the same dish. My husband family calls it French Salad, not its name. I will be telling my husband when he gets up his family has "bastazied" another name. But I still found it. My MIL will be ticked to hear that I found it, since she would not share the recipes. It is so yummie. Salata de boeuf is the romania name. My husband is a Hun and they changed they name of Romania things to suit them.

It is too muggy tothink about supper. I have meetings all night so I will give hubby leftover 7 grain stew and sliced bread with garlic baked into it and I might eat when I get home later on tonight.

That's cool, YesI'mCheap - funny how the changes of names do happen between neighbouring cultures and families, too.
There are even Ukrainian differences between my husband and me - just different words used growing up. We even call 'teatowels' by different names, lol! I'll say "Please get me a pilka" - he says we don't have one, but here's a 'stirka'...
Or even here in Saskatoon - some people go with pyrohy, others with varenyky. We have only ever used pyrohy, but that really means baked ones - so the term we really should be using is varenyky.
