Great Canadian company, it's too bad.

Last Friday there was no Chapman's ice cream left at my Loblaws. Signs were posted that inventory would be temporarily unavailable due to a fire at the plant.

I heard they are continuing to pay full salary for all 400 employees for as long as it takes to rebuild & be operational again !!
Hearing things like this makes me happy to buy products from the company !!

sorry. I just am shocked your upset about a coupon, when there is much more important stuff the company is dealing with.

I think they meant the fire is a bummer, not the fact that they are not getting a coupon.

I think from now on I'm only going to buy Chapman's brand. They've been so generous with their coupons, and it seems like they're also going above and beyond for their employees, even given the economy. It's really unfortunate that this happened, and I hope they rebuild quickly!

I have a feeling Chapman's will come back bigger and stronger than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if they introduced some new flavours to commemorate their rebirth.

I discovered Chapmans from this site. I will definitely continue buying their ice cream (got my parents hooked, too) when they get back on their feet. It's pretty darn wonderful how they are treating their employees, that kind of thing gets mucho kudos from me.

Oh I didn't know about this fire! How terrible! Oh I hope they can get back to operating soon...for them, the employees and US loyal customers!

I also didn't know about Chapman's until I started coming to SC. Happy to know they are a Canadian company. Their products are really good quality...it's real ice cream not that other junk...tastes amazing!

I've always been a Chapman gal. I find the other ice cream (except Hagen Daz) upsets my stomach. I don't like the 'waxy' taste of Breyers and don't really care for Nestle. Ben & Jerry is too sweet for my liking...

My hubby, on the other hand, eats anything that has the words 'ice cream' on it ....

yay that's good to know. to me, it doesn't matter whether or not the prizes will be shipped once chapman's gets back on its feet again, as long as the business does well and remains canadian.
