Hey guys! I'm going crazy! I got this awesome gold key (how is a long story - I'll pass on that for now), and I really, really, really want to know what the symbols on it mean. I've looked through 1,000's of pictures on-line and have come up empty. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I'd really like to know what the "coffin" with rising sun means and the little circle of stars to the right of it.
Side A:
Side B:Are the two symbols on the left and right of the astrology symbols hebrew? And what would KA stand for? (I can tell you it's NOT the owners initials).
I feel like I'm in my very own miniscule version of the Da Vinci Code.

Okay, I'm no Indiana Jones, but I do have a funky hat like his. The symbol to the right of the A is the Hebrew letter Yod, which represents variously the character of God or the right hand of God (Yeshua or Jesus). The character to the left of the K is the Hebrew letter Kaf, which represents the palm of the hand, or open hand, or wing. Together, and read from right to left, they apparently have the meaning that Yeshua is the hand of God (perhaps "Christ is King").
I'm guessing that K A is either an English or Roman transliteration of Yod Kaf or it represents an organization named Knights of (something that begins with A). Not the Knights who say "Ni!"
I've got nothing for V D O or the symbols on the other side. In the photo I can't make out if there is anything in the banner. Globe on one side, stars on the other - Heaven and Earth perhaps?
I'll keep looking but if you have a clearer picture of that side it might help.

Ode to 60 years ago .... It can happen at the weirdest times. I was sitting on the couch watching the game and quite enjoying the Argo comeback. Then they did a wee interview with Nick Volpe who was part of the 1950 Argo Grey Cup Championship "Mud Bowl" team. Out of nowhere, I lost it. Started wailing. (Scared the dog, Hubby came running in from the kitchen - that part was funny). Man, I miss my Dad.
What I was remembering was an event from ten years ago when the Argos honoured what they called the "Team of the Half Century". All the guys were driven onto the field at half time sitting on the back of convertibles. Then they were introduced indivdually. I'd been so afraid "today's" fans wouldn't appreciate the "old guys" and it might be embarassing for them. I was wrong. In a big way. I'd never been happier to be wrong about anything!! It was a fan/love fest like I hadn't seen before.
After the game, on our way out of the stadium, a young kid (9 - 10?) recognized Dad from the mid-field celebration. The kid was thrilled. He asked Dad for his autograph, and they talked for about 20 minutes. The kid had heard so many "back in the day" stories from his granddad and was so impressed to run into one of the Mud Bowl guys. I don't know who got more out of the encounter - Dad or the kid. It was quite the sight.
Oh oh, waterworks again.
OK - this is me getting a grip again - talk about the game ... talk about the game.
Even though it was a loss, it did provide at least 3 quarters of entertainment. And the last play was kinda fun to watch. I just wish that Cleo Lemon would stop using Brett Farve's playbook!!
Hey Runt - did your daughter enjoy the game?Courage is not the absence of fear but acting in spite of it.
