Just woke up.
I ignored the pain went to bed instead. Woke up with really severe pain ( thought it was constipation at first but it was more in the front). Thena sudden rush of blood - congrats I got my period 2 weeks early LOL. My friend was ubber worried about me so she was bound she was calling Telehealth ON so the nurse said its most likely my period or a miscarriage (since I have done anything in 3 month - I highly doubt its a miscarriage). Plus, she said it would of showed up on the u.s. and the tech would of mentioned that. She thinks since the tech was playing around with my ovaries / flupian tubes they just were in stress and wondering what to do.

o wow. good thing u got a # that you can call. that makes alot of sense tho. i woulda suggested taking some kinda painkiller and then resting.
i need advice on an issue.
last 2 thanksgivings we were invited to our good friends house, and my mom went as well. they have a big dinner with a dozen or so family n friends. this year we got another invite.
but today mom says she isn't feeling well, and won't be going. and suggested i bring in kfc instead. i said no i'm not eating that on thanksgiving. so then she suggested we go out to a restaurant.
i said your not feeling well, you can't go to friends, but you can go to restaurant?
i don't feel like being around company she says.

i don't see how spending thanksgiving with 100 or more complete strangers is more comfortable?
so what do i do? thanksgiving is about family/friends. so i can't go to friends w/o her. i don't want to take kfc in. if i offer to make her a thanksgiving dinner, she tells me not to fuss she'd rather go out.
there are times when i feel like she 'tricks" us into taking her out. cause she doesn't get anywhere otherwise. but i don't like being coercied either.
suggestions???

My gramma gets like this all the time. Maybe, she just wants to spend it wih the family instead of friends
Maybe, you can plan something say with just the family and her one day and go to the friends party (if she doesnt want to she can stay home). We do this with thanksgiving and xmas we plan around everyone so everyones bf / gf / parents can come if they want. So say my sis bf parents had their dinner on thanksgiving last year and we had it the day before - we switch and so on - but w each have out own family gathering.
My computer screen seem to be flickering again. I think its on its last leg. I still have a year or so left on my warrenty but it takes 6 weeks to send it away and get it back. I just dont want to wait that long for something so simple. Last time I went they were trying to make me pay for it. Yea ok the price they would make me pay for fixing it I could go get a new computer.
Anyways off to bed

NS, I don't know what to suggest. Our family does the same thing. We have it on whatever day my SIL and my FIL aren't having theirs just so everyone stays happy.
Maybe your family and your mom could do Thanksgiving on a different day? It's not just about the Monday.
I'm not thrilled about Thanksgiving this year, either. My mom tried getting me to host our dinner this year and I told her there was no way I was going to do that - I'm going to have a 3 or 4 day old at home, and I don't want everyone there for the day. So, we're all going out for dinner close to our house. My mom got mad at me for not wanting to host, saying I wouldn't have to clean or cook or do anything but care for my baby, but I told her that's not the point. I get very frustrated and angry when I'm exhausted, and I want to be able to escape any situation if I need to, or get some much needed rest, and having everyone here, I cannot do that.
My MIL also wanted to stay here over Thanksgiving weekend, and I told her flat out no. We're only going to be coming home on the Saturday, Sunday we go to my FIL's for dinner, and Monday, we visit with my family and have dinner. Oh, my!! I think this momma's gonna have a melt down next weekend!!! (I'm already stressing over it
)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Morning all.
NS & BG, I'm lucky in that my parents don't think Thanksgiving is that important (never heard of it til they moved to Canada). Depending on whether or not a friend of the family surfaces (she tends not to really talk to us until holidays, then she wrangles an invite - sorry, don't mean it to sound nasty, just that she only calls my parents in the week before Xmas, TG, Easter & has been known to bring a guest without saying she's doing so, but my parents feel bad cause she's an orphan - if you can be an orphan at 60), then they'll do something with her on either the Sat or Mon. The last few yrs I've been going to my friend's on the Sun & having TG with his family & friends.
I know for my parents it's not about which day it falls on, they'll celebrate the week after if need be.
NS, maybe you can convince your Mom to have a special TG dinner just the 2 of you on Sat? Would that make her happy?
Good luck.

This might be the first TG in a long time we do not go to my inlaws. My folks do not make a huge deal about it, we have a family dinner that weekend with my family but thats cuz its my neice's bday on the 9th so we always do something for her and she gets to pick the menu for the night for her mom to cook and I usually bring dessert of some sort. This yr I think my hubby will tell his parents we are not going, he is not in the mood to be there, he is upset with his sister (actually quite pissed off) and he doesn't want the kids there when they tend to put out alot of foods lately that my kids cannot eat. They do not seem to understand if the food/meat is not kosher or halal the kids cannot eat it and lately they are even putting pork on the table when we are there. Not fair. I told once treat it like an allergy, would you put peanuts on the table when your granddaughter is around (who is allergic) of course not so why pork on the table when my kids are there? What if they accidentally pick it up and eat it? Well last time my son did and my husband freaked out, not to anyone there and definitely not to my son because he doesn't know any better but in the car he was just soo upset with myself, he said we can't go to these big events there anymore if they do not consider our choice. So I think will also be the first xmas for them we are not there. I will miss the turkeys cuz I love it but that's about it.
Argh another complaint...my eldests son was in Sept, I told them do not buy him anything, he has tons of toys and needs no clothes (I get hand me downs from my sister and his school is uniformed so he doesnt need anything). I told them give him cash he has his own bank account and even education fund so it will go there. Does anyone friggin listen to me? Everyone buys him clothes and 1 doesn't even give me a gift receipt...sent hubby out now to return it all. As soon as they gave them to us I said thank you but is there any receipts...why they ask...I simply said I mentioned to you prior he doesn't need any clothes...my SIL says I have the gift receipts...I ask do you have the original receipt as the gift receipt just gets me a store credit I would like the cash...no I don't have the original (of course). I said 'oh well another gift card to Bonnie Togs I will never use, I don't shop there...SIL says why do you have another gc from there?...I said last time you guys got them clothes I had to return and again they gave me a gc.
Yes maybe I was rude but I am hoping they get the point. If you want to spend $30 on a gift for them gimme the money and make my life simpler. I am not going to pocket the money, they have their accounts so what is the big deal....
