Trap, neuter, release programs???

Does anyone know of any catch, neuter release programs in the GTA??? I've tried looking but i havent found any. I'm a student so raising the money to do it on my own is going to take awhile, but if all else fails I'll do what i have to.

It is when you find cats that have lived on the streets so long that they won't make good pets anymore, so you spay or neuter them, and release them into a colony so they live out their days but don't keep having kittens

So today I've been looking online trying to find somewhere that helps with the cost of neutering, shots and so on. I havent found anything yet. The lack of resources fustrates me so much.

I feel like toronto has a major problem with strays and should be doing something to help them not iggnoring them.

I know that i hardly have the means to pay for my own living, but if i dont do something the problem is just gonna get worse and worse.

I don't know if the OSPCA clinic in Newmarket does ferals, but they are super cheap (around $50 for spay) there is also a low cost clinic on Dixie Rd

But the fact remains, the money is given to the OSPCA and Animal Services to deal with them and they should be providing services not just resources, but we all know what their service is

Try Toronto Cat Rescue. www.torontocatrescue.ca I know they helped with some cats in my neighbourhood (Distillery District).

Are you sure they're too feral to be house pets? It might take a while to gain their trust, but I haven't met a single feral yet who didn't come around (about 20 cats in my case). Thankfully people are no longer dumping their pets in my neighbourhood (yes, I've seen idiots stop their car & throw a cat out the door onto the sidewalk ). & now that construction is going gang-busters with constant activity, we don't have any more strays.

I did my own search for non-profits/not for profits and found this charity (it's a non-profit, low-cost spay and neuter clinic). An address, website and some info are all on this page:

Maybe you can contact the leaders via facebook and see if you can ask some questions through messaging/e-mail, a phone interview, or even meet in person and discuss your plans. I think it's so great that you're doing this, good luck!
