I don't think its for the OSTC that its showing for. I think its for the HST rebate. Because if you'll notice, right beside the GST/HST tab there is an OSTC tab... that is showing me how much I'll get when that comes out again.

I would like to say it confused me SOOO much because it more than doubled, but I noticed it AFTER I submitted info after I had my daughter in July. But I was pretty sure it wasn't going to be that much... I guess we'll see though in Oct.

If you add your GST payment ( One received on July 5 ) + The OSTC payment ( One received on Aug 10 ) ... does it equal to the NEW GST payment they are showing for Oct 5 ?

If that's the cas maybe they are just showing the addition of the 2 & the GST rebate might not have gone up after all

I just checked the online system agan and it's back to normal. It is showing my expected payments for both GST and OSTC separate and at the same amount of what I recieved the last time. It was probably just the system merging the two payments together. Check yours and see if it shows the same

    August 10, 2010,
    November 10, 2010,
    February 10, 2011,
    May 10, 2011.

The new Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC) is intended to help low-to-middle income individuals and families — including seniors — by providing tax relief on the sales tax they pay. The credit provides up to $260 a year for each adult and child in low- to middle-income families. Ontario funds the program and Canada Revenue Agency administers the program through the personal income tax system.

Ontario Sales Tax Transition Benefit ( OSTTB )

    June 2010,
    December 2010,
    June 2011.

The amount of a payment depends on the family situation:

    • Families will receive three payments: The first will be $330, and the last two will be $335, if adjusted family net income is less than $160,000. A lesser amount will be received if adjusted family net income is between $160,000 and $166,600 for the first payment, or between $160,000 and $166,700 for the second and third payments.
    • Single taxpayers will receive three payments of $100 each if their adjusted net income is $80,000 or less. A lesser amount will be received if adjusted net income is between $80,000 and $82,000.
