I was an odd kid and I am an odd adult. I love school. I think of the best things for me is that i have now learned about online courses, it means i can work from the comfort of my apartment
.
I was born in December, and being from Nova Scotia that meant that even though I turned 5 in December I had to wait until September to go to school. As a child I didn't understand this, all I knew was that my friends all got to go to school while i had to wait. I used to get so upset about it, even looking back it is still upsetting. I just wanted to go to school.Try out the maven box by julep And code FREEFB, and get your box for one cent:

My daughter had her first day of kindergarten today and she loved it. She met some new friends which is great. I haven't had a friend in many years and don't want her to have to go through being alone. I've struggled all my life trying to make friends. She seems to have no problem at all. So far, so good.

It certainly does depend on the kid, that's for sure. My oldest was a "hanger-on" and I hate to say it, but it was well into February of j.k. that she finally stopped hanging on or crying regularly when we'd leave. It was total hell.
NancyM, I get what you're going through with the "omg. Brace yourself. It's time to get the kids up for school" feeling. lol. It DOES pass though. And with my oldest, she was alone at school--no siblings to run to for comfort, so it WAS harder for her.
The youngest? Total different story. She started school at 3 years old and I was ramping up for the worst day of my life ever when she started j.k. because she had cried for 2 weeks solid in advance of school starting. I thought for sure she'd not only hang onto my leg but try to climb back inside me on the first day of school.
She pranced off without looking back. Mind you, she had an older sibling to run to for comfort so perhaps that made a difference. And, she rides the bus to school whereas we drove the older one the first year. If they get feelings of self doubt on the bus, hehe, well, too bad. They can't change their mind on the bus or plead with mommy, so maybe that makes it easier somehow."Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

Glad to hear it went a bit better today Nancy. Mine enjoyed yesterday, she had no accidents, and cried when I left, and then at lunch hour when her sister had to go back to her own classroom. Now today she says she dosen't want to go back. She was expecting a woman teacher and got a man, who seems super great, but you know what 4 year olds get like.
