Quite right, I'd be shocked if anyone at SC condoned such an act. We're primarily Canadians here, which is almost a synonym for rational. I feel sorry for the US, they seem to be afflicted with more than their fair share of lunatics. And, as others have mentioned, their media couldn't wait to shout it to the world. I heard yesterday there already were protests in Afghanistan about this. How would they even know about some tiny wacko church if not for the media gleefully reporting it?

Fear spawns fear such as hate spawns hate and while everyone can agree that the tragedies of Sept 11 were just that, tragedies, it is sad to say that the Terrorists did a better job that day than they could ever imagine. Since Sept 11 Americans have been and are living in constant fear of the boogeyman and they are turning on themselves, way to go terrorists!

Buring a Holy Book while it may make them feel better for a moment will only fan the flames of hate and continue this circle of destruction. I hope they come to any senses they may have and stop this stupidity before they engage in it but I sadly don't see that happening.

I was going to say that this guy was on Anderson Cooper last night and he admits to not having read the quran.

O.k. I will say it. He is just a nutter disguised as a "man of the cloth" and will spew his 1st amendmant rights blah blah blah. When in fact I believe their 1st amendmant is incredibly flawed and not meant to protect people like him and he may as well be wearing a white sheet as far as I'm concerned.

Yes. And when they do this there will be riots in Islamic nations, the police will crack down and there will be loss of life. Just like with those Danish cartoons. But its all worth it to the media, as long as they get ratings. Sigh.
