UPDATE!!!
Just thought id let everyone know that they contacted me, apologized, reassured me that they had sent a health inspector to that location and that they are now pest free. They also sent me a letter with a value of $50 towards my next purchase at jack astors. Not bad, but Im still a bit weary on if I want to eat there again.
Normally I have a pretty good experience at Jack astors, I love the food and the prices are very reasonable.
BUT I will NEVER be eating at that particular Jack Astors after my experience saturday night.
We were celebrating my sisters birthday and we all got food and drinks and it was as expected on time, tasted good, etc.
Then while we are waitng for the check, something catches my eye so I turn and look at the wall (we were in a booth) and im like ew OMG what is that crawling across the wall???
A BIG FAT COCKROACH!!!
No kidding.
It crawled across the wall into the next booth and disappeared...
we were wondering what to do so we just paid and left.
I shook out all my clothes and purse before I got home tho jic...
Im going to be writing a complaint to their head office about that.
It is totally unsanitary and is breaking health and safety rules.
Yes I know bugs are a fact of life, but cockroaches dont travel alone..... restaurants that have infestations usually get shut down.
So beware when eating at that particular jack astors. This thread is currently associated with: Jack Astor's RestaurantLast edited by c_mcarthur; Tue, Sep 28th, 2010 at 07:47 AM.

I was listening to something the other day where they said that 80% of chefs would give their kitchen an A- rating or above for cleanliness but of those over 80% had seen a cockroach in a restaurant - gross

It's true, they're in more places than you think. Chances are you've even somewhere with them it's just rare you see them.

shudder! I used to work at a chinese restaurant years ago and at night we'd shut the lights off to close down and they'd all start to come out. On the top of our walk in there were hundreds of them. It was horrific.
