A friend of mine came across this blog recently and I thought I would post it here. I think this article is really eye-opening and mind-opening. Makes you think twice when you purchase more than you need of an item even if it is for free or near free. Please take a read.
Disclaimer: If the authour wants me to take this down, just say the word. I think it's an excellent article and do not in any way take credit for writing it.

That is a good article. I have a bit of a stock pile, literally some bags from LD in the bottom of the only closet where I live while attending university. My fiance warns of going overboard, and I can certainly see how some people do that.

I found it hehe, Great article, really makes you stop and think, I was about to go to walmart and get as many cases of soup as I could with my coupons, not that it won't be used , but I realized how disappointed I was at the last sale when I got there and they had none left, (forgot to ask for a raincheck)so after reading that article and realizing that it will come around again, I'll definitely not buy as much as I had planned, thanks for the post , I'm giving it a thumbs up...

The author sums it up nicely when she stated:
It's hard to pass up great deals when "everyone" is doing them, but a real frugal shopper knows when to go for it and when just to say "no."
I think the rationale is there is always another sale, promo. She makes it clear there is a very fine line between stockpile and hoarding.

Very interesting, thank you for posting it

I don't think it's in the right forum though; this is an article, not a website. It'll be better in the Tea Room or Brag section where more people would have the opportunity to read it

Great article! I try to limit my stockpile to 6-12 of each item...don't have room for alot, but pick up deals when I can...share with mom & DS (23yrs) & try not to buy stuff just b/c its "a good deal"!
I like to know I have enough of TP, tissues, laundry soap, food etc for the winter months & dont have to go out as often in the cold, haha
Never would have found this post, but Sarajk PM me!
Wonder why they buried it!

CarlyinCanada:
That's the reason for my "stash" as well. I don't like going out more than I have to from Dec-Feb. Ice, snow, bad roads? Hell, check the basement pantry first.
