Hey everyone. Does anyone have a recipes for Asparagus? I always steam it then add butter, salt and pepper.

You can do this on grill or in oven (350 degrees in oven):

Clean the asparagus and lay it on the grill. Brush the spears with a bit of olive oil.
Grill the spears for about 5 minutes, or until tender when tested with a fork. Serve as is, or with a sprinkling of salt.

or

Place asparagus in frying pan. Add just enough water to cover. Boil for 3 - 5 mins.
Drain and return to pan. Add butter to coat OR lemon juice.

I add minced garlic to my asparagus and use olive oil. sometimes parmesan

Harley Grandma...I was going to tell you to try the Asparagus in the oven, like heartgirl. I really like it done like that. The only thing I do different is that after putting the olive oil on I sprinkle salt and pepper over top before cooking. Depending on who I'm feeding I will put garlic and parmesan (like NS suggested). Regardless I love asparagus, one of my favourite vegetables (even with its lingering odour )

I got my invite NS thank you

As for my brother, he is home with my parents are talking in circles. He is no longer suicidal but fearing everything. He doesn't want to go back to work and the thought makes his heart race and at the same time he wants to get on with life. He feels like an involent (sp?) for living in a room at my parents house and scared to go back to his condo. I told him relax that is family...but he keeps saying I should be caring for them but instead I'm putting them through crap at their age.
There is alot going on in his head, I had a super long conversation with him yesterday and I hope he really does decide to go out today and see the doctor. He is no close to getting back to normal, he needs a shrink to just push him to it, something none of us in the family can do.
But he does now say that crazy stuff on the weekend will never happen again so I'm trusting him on that (suicide attempt)
