Gonna go answer a couple of PM's, but I figured I'd check in here first.

LOLcat i need your advice before heading back to that moron.

The doc put my on ferrous fumarate 200mg x 2 daily (pink ones). Ive always been put on the red or green ones. I googled it think what the hell is this idiot putting me on now LOL. All the links Ive read thru have stated if you have ulcerative colitis stop taking immediately and return to your doc. So ummm should i stop taking them or continue taking them. what will happen if i keep taking them. I just starting taking them last night with my night pills.

Oh Ricki. Seriously. I would be a better doctor than your doctor, and I'm not a doctor. *sigh* Ferrous Fumarate is WAY too indigestible for someone with ulcerative colitis. To determine what kind of iron supplement is right for someone has to do with digestability and "Rate of absorption". Someone with a condition like yours needs to be on the gentlest of iron supplements, and Fumarate is the harshest. I guess maybe he was thinking quick absorption, but good lord. You should always be on Ferrous sulfate, which I *think* is typically red or green depending on the manufacturer. FERROUS SULFATE. I want to smack your doctor in the face.
The one brand name I can think of is Slow-FE, also Fer-In-Sol I think. You can even ask a pharmacist, THEY can tell you very easily what kind you should be taking depending on your conditions. But I would say 200mg a day Ferrous Sulfate.
NOTE: Anyone else taking Iron supplement shouldn't take that quantity. Ricki would have to take that high amount because of her body's rate of absorption being so low from her other medications and her colitis.

Err what a tool.

The fact that all the docs in the clinic have my file and says right in the front (kinda hard to miss it).

What else isnt this doc telling me then. I went last summer and another doc said that i had low iron & vit k. Supposable the vit k gone up but yet i havent changed my diet or anything (cant eat half the crap anymore). Went to this doc he told me get this eat a load of red meat (yes thats right).

Ive been drinking Ensue when I feel extremely crappy but other than that noones told me to do anything else. Except reduce stress in my life (basically sit in my room for the rest of my life).

Ill take them for the next week and if I feel horrible Ill try to a appointment with another doctor. Figured Id ask you since you seem to know a hell of a lot more than my doc.
