Hi everyone! I'm back! I had a relapse of the "crud" that is going around, and it had me wiped out. I tried fighting it with OTC meds, but that didn't work, other than they knocked me out and made me rest. I was finally able to get a day off today and went to the Dr. and got a shot and some antibiotics. I feel better already! I'm soooo behind that I don't know what I've missed here, but I understand that major congratulations are in order for lolcat -- twins! That is awesome! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Yeah I posted on kijiji, I am just trying to do a fall cleaning of the house and I have so much still very good stuff but I do not need it. The kids got a Little Tikes toddler bed and they never used it. We tried it and they refused, so it is still barely used and since we have it assembled we are hoping to sell it now and get someone to pick it up and just get the clutter out of my house. My husband wants to start finishing the basement slowly with our neighbour (who does it for a living) so to do that means I have to get rid of stuff. We have been in this house for 3 yrs and damn the amount of stuff collected is insane.

I'm leaving here tomorrow at 7:30am to make sure we're there before 10am. Did you buy your tickets when you got there? I went to Lifefest in April and had a blast bringing home 4 canvas grocery bags full of stuff. But, by the end of the day that stuff was heavy!! This time I'm bringing a back pack as well.

Went with a neighbour who had a buy one get second $5 off coupon. Bought tix at door.

Filled the 2 tote bags I got (have to fill out survey on computer which takes a bit of time at Viva counter to get one of the totes, the other you get at the door filled with goodies). For food - go straight from entrance to the back and should be halfway along the back wall. Same with tix for wine tastings.

Takes a while to get through - especially if you stop and watch some of the demos.

Fill out computer ballor at Rogers to get copy of Chatelaine (I still got it despite confessing to cancelling my cable & cell contracts with them).

Lots of chances to get teeth whitened on the spot & lots of chiropractors around giving quick checks.

Have fun & yes, the 2 tote bags (+ my oversized purse stuffed to the max) were heavy.

Went to the dr bright and early this morning, for the first time in months my test was in a normal range thank goodness its been worrying me. My feet and legs are down some today they were so very swollen they were extremely painful so I'm very relieved. Kept them up all day yesterday and stayed down bored out of my mind but it was worth it. Watching Titanic today and keeping them up. my cell phone keeps ringing I can hear it like its far off but lol I can't find it. By the time I get even part way close it stops I'll have to wait until DH gets home so I can call myself to find it. Ok I found out where it is but still can't find it. It's somewhere in the couch, not under but in it and I can't reach it wherever it has fallen!

Any pet pychiatrists here? My rat terrier Mollie has gotten so neurotic the last few months she's driving me nutty. She's always been kind of clingy but now she stays under my feet even in the bathroom and then she'll try to go around behind the commode. She's taken to laying behind the couch and behind dh's recliner. When I sit on the stool she crawls into the center of the rungs and sits. She acts like your going to hit her whenever you get annoyed with her and she's never even been spanked. If you pick up the fly swatter she shakes and carries on like your gonna kill her. She's 9 years old and while she's been a little chicken most of her life she's never acted like this before but for the last few months she's been bizarre! She's such a little love and usually spends all day bugging me to play with her I realize she's getting older and doesn't have the stamina she used to but I want my dog back! I feel like a neurotic body snatcher has gotten her! Neither my dh nor I would ever abuse her and no one else is here to so I know she hasn't been abused by anyone. We love this dog with all our hearts she's our baby, I just don't get what has happened to her . Taking her to the vet soon as I get my check and see what he thinks and make sure it's nothing physical but would like to know how to reassure her she's safe. HELPPPPPPPP

When I was on dialysis, I had major issues with swollen feet. What really helped was soaking them in lukewarm water.

Sorry to hear about Mollie. It sounds like she's losing her vision (might be cataracts, which can be treated but $$).

If she's always been a bit nervous of sudden movements, it will take a while, but a program of desensitization can help. Basically while your pup is eating her most favourite treat (most dogs love pan-fried liver and it's fairly cheap as a treat), start causing distractions. For example, sit on the floor & while feeding Mollie with one hand, wave the other hand off to the side. Eventually move the hand closer to her until she gets to the point where she associates movement with food. It can be a slow process if she's always been this way, but it can help. Both my dog and cat will sit or lie still, while I wave my hand at them or clap in front of their noses. A huge achievement for my feral kitty. Of course, sometimes the dog will try to kiss me if I lean in too close & the cat will ignore me & start washing his face. So much for any respect around here.
