Thanks everyone for all the well wishes--went back to the doc today & he removed the staples (all 12 of them) & took off the temporary cast & put me in a "frankenstein boot" which I will wear for awhile. He was well pleased with the progress so far & said I could go back to work next Monday. I can only put "toe" weight on it until around Thanksgiving when he will go back in & remove the large screw that across my ankle & attaches to the large weight bearing bone on the other side. No driving until then which will be the hardest part for me to give up my independence for that long. The new boot is much more comfortable & he told me I could now take a shower (yeah!!) & leave it off at night to sleep. The weirdest thing is they took an x-ray & all the metal work showed up, guess I won't be able to go thru the metal detectors without a fuss anymore!!

OMG! I just want to scream. I called the clinic back and she told me most of my blood work isnt back and they have to send it out for further testing - but not to worry she thinks its nothing like usually - nice eh. But my iron my wonderful iron is at 5 (Im not sure what normal is). I just looked it up and it should be 65 - 165 fo my age and eing female. I asked the nurse about the shot and she said no the doctor put me on ferrous fumorate (whcih is what he put me on before). I told him when I went I want the shot he even wrote in my file that I couldnt take it yet he told the nurse for me to take it. Then shes like you only have to take 1 pill a day so its not that bad you should be taking 4 (thats nice Im still not taking it). Then she was trying to scare me with saying well your iron is already bottom out and once you get your next period youll have to get transfusions - alrighty see you in 3 weeks time. She then told me to drink orange juice and eat red meat - def a big no no. Shes leaving me pamhlets in my file for me to learn all about iron and for me to take the pills. She then told me the symptoms I get from taking the pills are minor and will go away in a couple days after starting them - uhuh 3 weeks later I still have them.

I tried telling her that I flare up from a load of the foods and the pills. She told me to suck it up and ignore it. Told me to take it at bed time, eat with it, not eat with it. Im sure she thinks Im an idiot - Ive tried everything and clearly its not working.

I just want to spash my face off something - do they even listen to a single word I say.
