can you get a caregiver for the price a nursing home would cost? That is what my neighbour does for her husband so she can get stuff done, the nurse woman comes 4 hours a day

This is what I am thinking. The waiting list for a home is eternal and she would probalby die before getting into a home. She needs 24 hour supervision and cannot bathe, needs diapers the whole bit so it would have to be an advanced care place. Can't affor d it.

It's going alirght! I had the flu for the last week or so. That was really crappy, but having a broken nose and stuffed sinuses was HORRIBLE.

But I am back to normal now

    How are you doing??

Hopefully your husband can help out when there is more to do. Look into home care or respite care. Is there any way the kids can take a bus to school, or drive with other kids nearby?

About having the parents in a facility - nothing wrong with it, and nothing wrong with you changing your mind. It doesn't mean you love them less, not at all. You deserve a life, and they will be well-cared for. They can sell their house and that will pay for good care somewhere.
My sister is in a similar situation with her in-laws. She and her husband, along with a SIL, are doing all the care for the mid-80s parents who are still in their own home, but they are now looking into a care facility.
