The lady at the store asked me if I had stacked coupons before. I told her "no, so if I do something wrong explain it to me so I don't do it again.". Well, before we were done ringing me up, she told me that I had my coupons more organized than some of the 'regular' stackers. made me feel really good. The price of everything seems a little high to me still though. Granted, I lost about $10 in savings due to coupon expiration the day before.

awesome start! If the price seems high now, just give it a few months. I started around the middle of October and have only done about 5 LD trips, but saved well over $200 since then!
I think you're doing fantastic for a first time, way to go!

wow, that's great for your first time!
Stacking really warps your perception of what's a good deal. Yesterday I asked at Customer Service whether they'd accept a stack of Gillette gift sets AND Gillette fusion razor, for a Gillette gift set & they said no, but that it's still a "smokin good deal" at $3.24 + tax. I ended up not getting it just then because I wanted some time to think about it & see how I could find a way to use my "buy 3, save $5" coupon to bring the total down a bit more. As I walked away, she said in surprise "You're not going to get it????" Me, thinking: "But it's not FREE!" lol

I agree the prices are high, but you did a really good job stacking so you got some items free and others lower than other places with the multiple coupons!

Do you pay taxes over and above in Winnipeg? Here in BC we have to remember that HST gets added to the 'before coupon' price....

I wasn't aware there was a LD in Winnipeg until I met this really nice lady in Walmart. She was 2 people behind me in line and I was making apologies to everyone for holding up the line due to my coupon use. That's when we started talking about coupons and she told me there was one in town. It bums me out that we have to pay so much in tax on 'free' items, but I'll get used to it.
Looking forward to my next trip, trading for coupons now (or trying to) and plan to go when my two little girls aren't so cranky!!! Hopefully the husband won't be there ... "hey why is Mr. Potato Head in here?"...."Beka, it's cheap and a good gift, btw I'm thirsty, getting a drink". LOL

Tinker, you can do mild stacking at Rexall. Or is mild stacking just a tease? I got the old spice items cheaper at rexall on sale then I did at LD
